I'm not an infallible martial arts hero you see on the silver screen, says Jet Li as he made a shocking revealation about his health.

According to Taiwanese news reports, the 50-year-old actor was spotted with a swollen face and bloated body at a recent event, which led him to reveal that he is suffering from a form of hyperthyroidsm.

Due to his condition, he is unable to undertake any strenous activities as his heartrate can go into overdrive even when he is not exerting himself.

Lamenting his current condition, Li said: "I'm not Huo Yanjia, Wong Fei Hung or an action hero. I'm just an ordinary guy who has to face the troubles of my inability to work."

He also said that he is facing up to his illness, and that he is determined to overcome it.
 
At least he is rich and can afford the best treatment money can buy,,like Pinky,,got cancer and now cured to further torment singkies..
 
Why I can see so many sinkies with bloated face even they don't have hyporthyroidsm ?

Maybe now it comes with with additional contributions from Indians, Pinoys, Banglas..etc and not forgetting those with Aids and cancers. Do you think those advance filtering employed by PUB can remove these diseases from their waste deposited in Changi New Water Plant?
 
people with hyperthyroidism are treated with carbimazole or something like that. and after a few months of treatment, they put on hell a lot of weight. some over treatment then lead to hypothyroidism and the person becomes fat, lethargic and bloated. and i think this is what is happening to jet li.

two of my friends developed hyperthyroidism when they were in uni and they went for treatment. after that , they put on hell a lot of weight and some had very low thyroxine hormone. those who went for radioactive iodine treatment become real obese and bloated. and they have to put on thyrozine hormone to keep them active. otherwise, they become fat, lazy and lethargic.

over treatment is bad. under treatment is also bad. got to treat and follow the advice of a good specialist in thyroid.
