govt's "insatiable lust" seems to be directed for future development plans amidst the fact that singapore itself is a land-scarce country. and this huge number of foreign workers is necessary to execute such plans. if not, which singaporean is willing to get their hands dirty to brave the hot sun and build the skyscrapers we now live so comfortably in?
i too am of the opinion that an excess of foreign workers cause many and different unintended repercussions. we cannot stop them from doing what they want. but the minimum we could do is to control them. and probably this aspect is one area which the govt should really consider looking into, given the influx of exponentially increasing foreign workers over here.
