Reisdents in Little India Area

Saw on tv about an interview with some residents in little India area.
Apparently, many of these residents were really pissed off with all these ah nehs.
They like got drunk in groups and sleep everywhere on the void decks, corridor, road side etc.
What make it worse is that all these ah nehs shit and pee on the lift lobby area.
As we all knew India is a country where there's "no proper toilet".
They simply do their business everywhere and anywhere they can think off.
Having said that, most of the shop owners in little India doesn't really like all these ah nehs to use their toilet
without patronizing them. Hence with such a huge group of ah nehs and not enough toilets, the entire little India area
now smells like shit. Even resale value of all those HDB flats have gone done a lot.

Any property on the Farrer Park side of Race Course Road is ok. Any property on the Little India side is affected. The old design of those HDB flats does not create a buffer for the residents. Farrer Park road 4 point blocks are relatively peaceful as I see Aetos patrol to shoo away the ah nehs on weekends. On the contrary...the Buffalo road side HDB flats are nightmares in the weekend.

Little india the location is good. Near town. If these ah nehs get shoo away. The place will go up in value. Maybe pap will now make an area for these people to congregate. Or even better detain them in their dorms. They get pick up n sent to work n back n end of contract they r sent home. Tat way they dont mix with the local populace. If need shopping etc .have a delivery run. Orders get taken. A few go out and buy n bring back. They r out of sight n out of mind.

And little india has been like that since the 80s. I just surprise the riot happen now.

Why must it always be about property prices? What good is Little India without Indians? It's like salt without saltiness, only fit for throwing away.

Why not question the govt's insatiable lust to build and enbloc every piece of land/property it can land its grimy hands on, and consequently the need to hire a huge number of foreign workers.

govt's "insatiable lust" seems to be directed for future development plans amidst the fact that singapore itself is a land-scarce country. and this huge number of foreign workers is necessary to execute such plans. if not, which singaporean is willing to get their hands dirty to brave the hot sun and build the skyscrapers we now live so comfortably in?

i too am of the opinion that an excess of foreign workers cause many and different unintended repercussions. we cannot stop them from doing what they want. but the minimum we could do is to control them. and probably this aspect is one area which the govt should really consider looking into, given the influx of exponentially increasing foreign workers over here.
