PAP losing support rapidly....

Nice try quoting an article from Rachel Boon, a pro-PAP presstitute from SPH.

Thank you Brother Laksaboy,I just gave up after a life long sucription to the Straits Times last month with a message to their cheif editor when the marketing guy called to ask why?

The PAP has very little actual support. While they may win votes, it is because the opposition is weak or voters have believe their personal interests may be at stake. The PAP knows this hence the tinkering with the electoral rules and constituency boundaries. They know love is fickle but fear always works. Unfortunately, fear may win you votes today but one day people may overcome their fears and things may reach a tipping point. They know this too but I am not sure if they know how to change things. The scenario planners within the party must be hard at work.

Well done. You don't owe them an explanation. The same goes for telcos who ask why you've canceled your subscription to their internet/mobile services, or an employer who wants an exit interview to find out why you want to resign.

It is none of their bloody business.

I asked 6 of my friends how life was treating them in Singapore and all of them said it was great.

Were these friends foreigners & business owners  These are the groups that usually support the PAP for obvious reasons.

If you ask a Sporean for their opinion about the PAP you will usually get a politically correct answer unless they are good friends, then you will hear more of the truth.

The PAP has a bedrock of loyal support from the electorate - unfortunately (fortunately for us) those are the old folks born before independence and colour tv, and every year more and more of them become worm food or ashes. ;)

Hence the pro-FT shenanigans from the PAP. Let's see how and how many 'new citizens' are produced in the next couple of years. Then again, new citizens may also get annoyed or disillusioned... don't expect automatic gratitude shown at the ballot box for that pink card. Look at Punggol East. I rest my case.

Eye surgeon (not VB but one of his contemporaries) , Manulife agent, Bike shop owner, Secondary school teacher, IT specialist (helps run this forum), Manager in PCB assembly shop in JB.

All say life in Singapore is good.

These aren't government lackeys or children of rich pricks. They all made good on their own thanks to the PAP.

I also say life is good. So?

If I ask my friends who are now ex-Sporeans about how Spore is doing they would have a different opinion:)
Some still have family here & keep in touch.

We all have different opinions. That's why the human race creates such diversity.

However, you cannot deny the fact that Singapore is a land of opportunity. It is for this very reason that foreigners flock to the country to work and make a pile.

Spore is something like an MLM. Those who have managed to build their downlines can sit back & relax & let their down lines do the work.
People who don't think the MLM compensation is fair try to leave. Many quitters I know have done well for themselves in Australia & Canada.

In any MLM system there will always be winners & losers but many Sporeans didn't vote for an MLM system

without doubt, PAP supporters

There is no such thing as a perfect government. No matter where you are in the world, there will be govt policies that will rub you the wrong way for some reason or another.

The trick to being happy is to take the cards that you are dealt and make the best of what you have.

When you see an opportunity, go for it. Don't hesitate. The same applies the world over.

Ultimately, life is what you make of it.

Without PAP, your mothers will be prostitutes and fathers labourers. Daughters become prostitutes and sons become rubbish cleaners.
