This is the Fuji X-M1 with no viewfinder and tilting screen. Here are the images via Digicaminfo! And you also see the new 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 and 27mm f/2.8 lens. Great! This will be Fuji’s entry level X system camera and likely priced at around $600-650 (€550-600).

i will not get it brown. or anyone of the low end series. But someone might get brown to stand out from the crowd.

For people who do not want to carry DSLR, want to point and shoot, and have as good photo quality, i think X-M1 is a very good deal. Highly recommend.

Re: Fujifilm XF 1

it is a decent camera.
But since i do not know what you are looking for, what type of photo and how you use the camera.
I like fuji X camera , shutter speed and aperature controls, remind me of film SLR.

If you want same IQ as DSLR with kit lens, dun want to carry such a big camera, i guess sony nex 3n is a great choice.
But if you want same IQ as full frame DSLR with kit lens, then fuji x series is the one you want.
if you want same IQ as full from DSLR with good lens, then you need sony RX1 or leica M.

personally i would not go for NEX series, the body is too small, the lens are too big, just not proportional relative to the camera. The lens size just defeat the advantage for a small body.

Re: Fujifilm XF 1

this is disgusting, i dun want pinoy lenses.
i will fly to japan to buy the fujifilm lenses just to avoid pinoy lenses. I know the lenses in japan will be japanese made, because they are racist like me.
-------------------------------------

Fujifilm just announced at their global website here that because of the “increasing demand for high-performance lenses” they now started the operation of a new optical lens factory in the Philippines. The goal: “the production to 18 million lenses a year by FY2015, [...] The total investment for the new factory is 2.3 billion yen.”

After the X-M1 and the XC 16-50 / XF 27mm (produced in Thailand and China) Fuji now expands also in the Philippines. It seems that Fujifilm products will be less and little “made in Japan”. But I hope that now the company won’t annoy customers with long waiting times anymore (a lot people are still waiting for the X100S and XF 55-200!). Bad news for aficionados to the “made in Japan”, but good news for all those who switched to the X (or plan to switch) and do not want to wait eternally for new cameras or lenses.

Have Fuji resolved the slow autofocus issue? That was the reason I went with Olympus instead of Fuji.

hell no, the IQ is amazing, prime lenses have amazing bokeh, amazing contrast, focus speed and searching for focus problem for no reason at all, slow as a snail

even after the latest firmware, i cannot trust the speed of focus for moving object.

olympus focusing speed and accuracy blow away fuji.

but IQ equal to most full frame camera except D800 of course.

Meaning.. would you recommend buying Olympus over Fuji?

I was considering one of X-A1, X-M1 or X20.

for noobs like you, yeah.
go and buy olympus

for people like me, or people who know photography, got the skill to use it. get fujifilm. if you have no skill and use x-m1, you will eventually pull all your hair out.

focusing can be unreliable and keep searching, and still after searching for sometime, still cannot find focus. try again and again, then ok it got the focus. Most inconvenience. It does not happen all the time, but enough to piss me off.

i doubt people like you who buy x-m1 would use 60mmf2.4 or 35f1.4 right. that is what fujifilm shine, the prime and x sensor will blow your mind.

all is not lost for you. The next generation of X camera will have better focusing, starting from X-E2 coming end of this year, you should wait for X-A2 or Z-M2.
