For the last 15 yrs the pap has been saying it has effective plans to lift the wages of low income workers and their approach of offering retraining packages s the best approach to solve the problem.
Not only has the problem of low wages grown over time as the number of workers falling into this category grown, the wages have been either stagnant or lag inflation resulting in negative real wage growth.

The mainstream media trivialises this problem by perpetually amplifying small morsels of good news to give the impression of progress but the problem has been steadily worsening.

Today our fast food workers make $5-6 dollars an hour 50-80% less than American fast food workers who went on strike. Even if their wages increase by 10% a year for next 5 yrs they cannot catch up with American fast food workers who are the lowest paid fast food workers in western developed countries. Obame has already legislated a jump in minimum wage from the current 7.25USD to US$9 in 2016 a jump of 25% but still seen as insufficient for decent living. In Singapore there is no mechanism to lift the wages of these workers ....but the pap has implemented a mechanism of importing foreign workers to keep their wages suppressed so that busineses can exploit cheap labor. These growing group of Singaporeans have become victims of lopsided pap policies that benefitted businesses disproportionately. PAP has also eliminated workers rights and ability to form independent unions to further disadvantage this large segment of Singaporeans in order to extract and exploit their labor output.

PAP policies and PAP controlled unions have done an injustice to these workers in order to benefit excessively paid executives and boost profits of businesses many of which have links to the govt (GLC) and PAP.

The PAP and its disgusting supporters dare to go out and tell their fellow Singaporeans that they have to show gratitude to the PAP for making Singapore such a wonderful place to live in is a grave insult to many who have to struggle and suffer under this unjust system that is designed to benefit a small group of elites....these shameless people should reflect on their selfish behavior and think about those who have been left behind

yet again you show your inability to think wage structures are particularly bad in 3rd
world countries with abundant resources e.g. Indonesia, Brazil but far better in respurce poor developed cointries like japan.
shows again your reply lack thinking.

wage structure is a function of socio.economic policies and pplitical system not existence of resources
