I am no expert in this aerial displays that concerns parachutists or the way the jumpers execute their high-rise falls with parachutes..

However, I did speak to some experts who were ex-SAF commandos and they told me that the situation is extremely dangerous and life-threatening for parachutists to accomplish such feats in such situations and in such a build-up area.

According top these people, the Marina Bay Area where these sky-divers were expected to dive is a small platform. The entire area around it has high-rise buildings and off course the open sea ahead.

Should anything go wrong, these poor divers could have crashed onto high buildings and ended their lives, or they could have drifted into the open sea to be engulfed in watery currents and high waves. Even their life-jackets would have been worthless.

These sky-divers are also parents and children to someone and earn a living in the SAF just like many of us who may be different to them in terms of departments, sports or vocations. We are humans after all, aren't we?

Kudos to those who cancelled such an aerial display for they were overly concerned about the safety of those jumpers.

However, in a war situation, the picture is entirely different.

Its either me (defender) or you (the enemy).

So forummers please have sympathy and emphatise with those jumpers for we know not that they may be our own loved ones.
