Dr mahathir: Malaysia must re-negotiate water deal with singapore

Not only water they can cut off food supply like poultry, vegetables, fruits, eggs and fish (from Thailand via M'sia). And also because of our smallness do not think we are defensible. Once their commandos landed at Kranji it would be easy for them to reach Mindef HQ which is only 8km away ...

The paper generals have their escape route all planned out.

in the past, they even can stop the ktm train in front of mindef main gate to form a road block. only gongkia advocate war, talk big big since they are not the one fighting. msia may have brought some rubbish submarines but their PT91 brigade certaintly can be a match to the Leo2 by being nimbler and lighter to suit the msia terrrains and infastructures. one must remember that armour warfare in a forest/jungle enviroment is not the same as the open terrain of the desert. the lowly infantrymen with rpg7 can take out the track of the leo2 and scoot off in their cubkia before the accompanying armour infantry can dismount from their APCs.

I rather see outcome when Malaysia invade Pulau Tekong

I think u don't understand SAF doctrine. Nobody must be allowed to invade Singapore first... because by then it is game over. If anyone ever think of trying it and it is a real and viable threat, SAF will invade first.

I think it was a dumb plan to shift MINDEF there then.
And later why they keep wanting to get back the railroad real estate.

why the importance on the forest / jungle environment ? the army should seek to control the roads, highways and railways linking the cities together and also the airports and seaports to cut off msia's links with the outside world. first objective is to conquer the cities asap, to deal heavy psychological and economic blows to the m&ds.

Good point. Strategic control, notwithstanding risk of guerilla warfare

guerillas will just relax one corner and drink teh tarik.
New meaning to lepak?:p Funnies aside, think they made of sterner stuff when it comes to crunch

er.... the roads army want to control cut thru forest/jungle enviroment.

your strategy of controlling route of communication and cities are old school tactics. modern warfare shd be smash and grab, just take what u want and not u cannot digest. WTF u want KL for? that another 2m potential sabotuers inside SAF lines. btw, no way saf can maintain a blockage of msia as navy too small and not enough aircraft. with only 3 new AEWs and the old AEWs (provided they not given to thais) inside airforce arsenal, it very difficult maintain a combat footing for more than a month. we are not israel, uncle sam not obligated to supply saf missiles and parts expended in the conflict.

2.5m to fight 28m, u siao huh. dont forget there a million of 5th column on the island.

fighting on own turf also give them an advantage. many here make fun of them but some of their officers seen action while serving with UN. the only action saf officers experience was to push toy soldiers on a sandtable.:oIo:

Lol 5th column I like that....make them all POWs by default. No prison can hold all of them though

Yes defend is always easier than attack.

the roads/highways/railways pass through the forests/jungles ? just control whatever area of the forests/jungles to gain access to the transport system in Malaysia. whatever military strategics and tactics deployed depend on the objectives. if Singapore wants to invade Malaysia proper. SG can only achieve a strategic control of the country, considering its small armed forces. controlling the cities and transport/communication routes are primary objectives. the forest/jungle environment would be the second phase of the clearing up operations.

Kuala Lumpur and Selangar are the industrial heartlands, economic and political center of Malaysia. KL is the capital. there is symbolic value in capturing KL. "sinkee troops are so strong. the capital KL has fallen to SAF." effective propaganda by Singapore to its people and rest of the world. physiological warfare to increase your people's morale and to lower an enemy's morale is important too.

Always think out of box. You think Malaysia is so united? How about teaming up with Johor sultan to fight for Johor independence? Rope in anwar and the opposition too. Or how about fermenting separatist movement in Borneo?

I'm sure the imperialist USA and UK will want a piece of meat too.

You think big bro Indo will allow S'pore to invade their fellow Muslim brotherhood nation M'sia? If these two countries team up then we are surrounded and will really be finished in no time!

USA will not allow it. Indons will be equally happy to tear up Malaysia. Indons may like to take Sabah and Sarawak. Malaysia was not a natural country. It has nine sultans, meaning nine kingdoms. Many of the sultans may like to take back their own land instead of being subject to federal laws.

why not also jio the thais to get back perlis, kedah and trenggenu too?

In the event of a breakup of war with Malaysia, we may be able to seize their territory in the initial stage which inevitably will lead to a protracted war in their jungles.

In a protracted war we stand no chance against the Malaysian Special Forces (commandos) who are trained to survive in the jungle for as long as six months without supply of food and water.

We may have very advanced weapons, but in the Korean war of 1950, the Chinese peasant army who were only armed with AK 47 assault rifles & bullock-carts were able to drive the Americans (who had heavy artillery, air and sea support) out of North Korea and the Korean Peninsular if they had not halted their assault.
