Notice that C.C. is in the same Punggol-Pasir Ris GRC as Teo Chee Hean, the minister who publicly reprimanded Tan Yong Soon in Parliament. His vocal sympathy, almost tantamount to rebuttal, may mean something more than met the ears.
Anyway, just speculating, probably nothing much or nothing like that.
