The smart and discerning support PAP

I have observed that intelligent and discerning Singaporeans are generally supporters of the PAP, and rightfully so. The PAP government (may the PAP progress!) is an extremely competent government that has the courage and foresight to enact policies for the long term good of the nation, rather than pander to the often irrational whims of the electorate. The PAP has an outstanding track record and is clean and uncorruptible. It is no wonder that discerning and street-wise Singaporeans are generally PAP supporters.



For a start, I would recommend reading the Memoirs of Lee Kuan Yew, so that you can learn how Singapore grew from 3rd World to 1st, and have a better appreciation of what it takes to govern our Great Motherland. Then you would know why intelligent and discerning people support the PAP!

LKY brought from us from kampungs, fishing villages, urban slums to first world country, clean waterways, affordable housing & medical fascilities, world class airport & gardens, & educational system, excellent infrastructure... and so many other things, we tend to loose count...the people must be very intelligent to support him, now coming to 50 years(2015).. it is an achievement that none on this planet earth can match..I have read most of his books, books on him, interviews on him, I have to admit that in the past, the family will sit & listen to his speeches, in Malay, Chinese & English ( mum & dad favorite), watch almost every National Day parade on TV ( M & D favorite) only one TV then, as I am typing this I must be the most intelligent person, but I do not know why I am getting a nausea feeling & want to vomit? Am I too intelligent??

A whole bunch of intelligent, discerning, cultured Germans supported Hitler. In the early decades of Communism , many highly educated people in the west (oxbridge grads and academics amongst others ) supported the Russian system. Some became Soviet agents. The PAP are here today because the lowly educated supported them along with the middle class. They could see their lives improving then. The PAP will lose support if people cannot see their lives getting better. Simple as that.
