SINGAPORE: Eu Yan Sang has pulled one of its products, Xia Ku Cao herbs, off the shelves after a customer complained that she had found a cigarette butt in one of the packets.

</noscript>Delise Oh and her husband take Chinese herbs regularly. Last Sunday, they discovered a cigarette butt in the herbs that she had bought the previous month.

Upon closer examination, she saw that the butt had Chinese wordings on it. In a written reply, Eu Yan Sang said raw herbs are imported from China although they are then re—packed by the supplier for sale in this market. It is not clear at which stage the problem may have occurred.

Eu Yan Sang, which said it takes quality control seriously, is investigating the complaint. Meanwhile, it is re—examining the contents of every packet of Xia Ku Cao herbs.

The company added that while it believes it has adequate checks in place, it will appoint an independent third party auditor to investigate and check all repackaging procedures.

if you got chance,you open up the ceiling boards in any office, you will be suprised to see lots of cigrate butts, lot of junks thrown into the ceiling during the contruction phase. all left over by the contractors.
if your job is just a clerk, lot of things you wont see

Hope EYS goes bust after this. Farkers have grown rich from peddling nature's gifts to humankind. All the herbs and natural cures exists free for the benefit of humans and EYS have only to repackage them and then charge an arm and a leg for things that are basically free of charge. lianbeng replies: cigarette butt can also mean that someone was smoking while packing the herb and simply mixed the butt into the package! is like those waiters in restaurants pui chow nua into ur plate of horfun lor! extra ingredient!

can find old drawing,discard wiring, discard cirgrate box,discard aircon filter..lot of unwanted thing.

I wonder if anyone remember the press decades ago would carry small snippets of Cold Storage and Ftizpatricks getting minor fines on food items - gone bad, expired, pest infestation etc. Even with all the quality control, as long as human intervention, these things would happen. More so when the supply chain leaves the country is resides partly in some 3rd world country.
