I am most fearful when wedding dinner do not have beer, red wine nor whiskey. Worst of the worst are vegetarian dinner......

good thread. i was caught once! but i enjoyed the sumptuous vegetarian dinner. gave a good hongbao to the couple too....some surprises are really good surprises....and vegetarian wedding dinner is one of them...

I went to a funeral where everyone have Caslberg and a lot of table are gambling. My friend told me is his 老大 death wish.

i am not joking. at one wake, people were all dressed up and they were all dancing!!! got dance music and even got a dance band.nobody was crying or mourning. i was told it was the deceased's wish that her friends dance during the wake and no one is to cry or mourn....interesting wake up call.

I also when to one vegetarian cum soft drink and Teh only dinner.
I saw a uncle come back with a 6 pack beer. I ask him where he buy, and he told me the 7-11 downstairs at hotel lobby. I when and buy my 6 packs, and when I return I saw that uncle at stage 敬酒。

It is the bride's father. Haha....

Well when my time comes,,I will want a party,,to celebrate my life and that I am going to a better place,,,not to celebrate my death,,,everyone dies,,,deal with it

Last time my Grand Uncle's funeral, his sons bought many cartons of Tiger and peanuts for the late nite guests..

Good for me and my cousins also.. We managed to take few cans and drank it somewhere else.. That time was only 9 years old..

I still remember going to mama store to buy 1 cigarette to smoke. Last time they have a can of 50 cigarette and you can buy 1 stick.

I remember choking.... and that is why I do not smoke ever....... Childhood nightmare.

good on u,,normally hor,,if i go this sort of wedding dinner,,,afterwards finish,,will go hawker centre, or Burger king etc and have a proper meal,,,

I remember going Newton Circle after a vegetarian dinner at Orchard Rd....

We eat like cannibal...... And we drink beer directly from big bottle without using mug.

Usually when deceased lau nang, it is okay to drink at the funeral wake. Family will provide the drinks. Beer and not liquour. For those who mati not-that-old but have brudders type, also will drink coz wife of deceased understand the 'needs' of her husband's hia tee. Mahjong and other card games very common. There are even syndicates around who will pay to use the night wakes as a front for syndicated gambling.

sigh its sad the real fun starts after the wedding,,,,that is why i dont like attending weddings,,,food is bad most of the time,,and have to put on a mask,,,and not cheap tooo and most times u are invited cos they want to sting yr ang pow money,,not cos u are there to give the couple your blessing
