It took 42 soft serve cones to 'cool down' a fuming customer.
On Nov 12, a man visited a KFC outlet in Guiyang, Guizhou, China during the busy lunch period.
Although there were many customers, only one out of the seven available cashier counters was open, reported Chinese media.
The man reached the counter after queuing for 15 minutes. He told the employee about the long wait and did not receive a satisfactory answer.
In a fit of anger, he decided to purchase 42 soft serve cones and placed them upside down on the counter.
Some staff members looked at a loss as to how to react to the whole debacle, while some stepped in to stop others from taking photos.
Netizens have uploaded and shared photos of the incident multiple times on various social networking platforms from Weibo to imgur.
KFC China posted a statement on their official Weibo account on Nov 12, apologising for not providing quality service. They also added while they were not trying avoid their mistake, but they hope that others would not waste food in such a manner.
In September, a Beijing man saw an employee preparing burgers without gloves at a KFC outlet in Wuhan. After staff at the outlet did not handle his complaint over food safety adequately, he decided to protect potential customers and warn others about the food by buying 2,000 buckets of chicken.
