Since I am hoping someone can come up with the best solution for the other thread asking a hypothetical question, I have another:

You are in a jeep that unfortunately broke down near a pride of lions. They came over to investigate, you are unarmed and no weapons nearby. What will you do?

1. Stay where you are and pray?

2. Stand up and shout shoo shoo?

3. Run out of the jeep as fast as you can?

I'll turn to the chiobu next to me and say "lets finish one before they cum"

This is a typical scene in an African safari and the type of jeep usually used.

1) Stay in the jeep and turn on the radio at full blast and don't move...you have a better chance......:)

2)Standing up and shooing will make the lion, think you are asking for a fight.....:D

3) Running will make the lion think you are his next meal.....

Assuming there is a radio or a cd player. What if there is none?

if there are no radio or cd, it is still advisable to stay in the jeep, try not to move, movement will only cause the lions to investigate what is that monkey doing jumping up and down....:D.

Just like dogs which bare it teeths at you, you do not turn or run, just walk backward slowly, they think you are invading their turf.....:D...done that before a german shepard and a doberman, i was walking near the house they are in they came out slowly showing their teeths, i just walk backward slowly and they leave me alone......lucky me.....

Ok your answer is partially right.:)

That is stay where you are but do not exit the jeep. The lions will not be targeting you as they think the jeep is a large animal and they will not attack it as the diesel odor and other smells emanating from the jeep is unusual. They will leave the jeep and you alone. In most safaris, the visitors are put in such jeeps and driven next to lions for the experience. The lions has never attacked the occupants.

Some safari organisers put the visitors in vehicles with cages or in vehicles that are fully covered. It is not because the lions will attack, but for their clients' peace of minds so they will not panic.

There have been close calls from angry lions who are familiar with safari jeeps or lions or elephants in desert as oppose to savannah.

Stupid tourists/inexperience guides staring and making fun at the lions and chatting away (no engine noise - jeep broke down).

Peter Alison has written a book detailing his experiences.

I am sure such things happened when even local guides do not follow the rules. Some stupid visitors will even wear camouflage uniforms thinking they look like big game hunters. In Africa, wearing these one can be mistaken as a military personnel and get shot.

Choose your tour guides wisely if you want to go on a safari otherwise you will regret it.

Tigers are known to be fiercer than lions. In a fight to the death between a lion and a tiger, both equally strong, the tiger would win.

The tiger fights alone whereas usually the lion in a group. Moreover, the lion is two thirds smaller than a tiger. By weight, if I recall reading before, a lion is about 400 lbs and a tiger about 600 lbs. I can easily google it and get the correct figures, but I think it is not necessary.

Unzip and show them your appendage. Masturbate to see reaction. At least you die with a release of tension. :D

Oops my apologies, I meant one third smaller than a tiger.

I take my hat off to anyone whose balls have not already shrunk in this kind of situation.:)

I heard from somewhere that it is the lioness who fight and look for food. After the food is ready, the lion make himself important and eat first while the lioness take a break. Sound familiar?

Yes that is true. However it is the male that protects the pride. There are some good documentaries about it. I recall the title being "Eternal Enemies" which is about lions and hyenas.

I see. Thanks for the info. The male actually do some work. I thought he just groom his mare and sleep. :D
Hyenas are no joke. They love distracting lions and attack their young or sick from behind. Not my favourite animal.
