Seriously i swear the reason why some of them queue to buy is so that they can get publicity for themselves. In the past there was this guy called jackson that was the 1st to get the iphone 3 and 3GS i think. Had his picture posted everywhere and same for the rest of them.

I just timed my SSD with win 7 took less than 20 secs for the OS to start up, less than 1 min to log off windows and restart it. In fact most of the time is wasted on the mobo making a POST and starting up.

Yes the speed is amazing compare to hdd...oni set back is...mine abit small...at 128gb...must always do clean up manually...maybe can get another 256gb ssd...hav another wd black 2tb for all de games...

$19.99 upgrade for me & boy!, the first boot up I became confused & disorientated...where is that shut down? The huge START, doesn't start anywhere, IE 10...nice..but what happened to all my favorites. The search...

Ok, after while I managed to get my sanity, managed to pin tiles on the metro of things I would want...I discovered I couldn't open and load my CD on the drive..where is the?? One have to move mouse to top right hand corner, go to search>apps> computer..to open the CD drive. or you pin Computer as a tile..

The boot up is fast..switch between windows is fast..so far nothing crashes...can not burn or rip CD...in the new Windows Media player...one have to go to your old desktop to use the old media player to do that..

I tried deleting but can;t, my clock is set 24hrs instead of 12hrs, can't change that, though it is slick looking, installed free cut the rope, there are a lot of games etc from Microsoft...I bet there will be a lot of confused users...asking, WHAT, WHERE, HOW?. VERY CONFUSED...MAC OS...easier to comprehend..:p

Cheapskate...I don't have to queue...only S$19.99, worth getting confused at that price...for a few hundred bucks, I won't want...the only think I admire at the moment is the OS stability...but I am keeping the fingers crossed..the other thing is security...don't know what is being opened & connected in the background...there is no indication,,,though dialogue boxes did pop up asking if you want to allow access, how about the native Microsoft apps?? like Office , bing etc...privacy??

That is the point...my first encounter was a utter confusion...I found the START at the top, that is where many I am sure will head for and familiar with & head there..and BOY! you would be surprised. Where is the SHUTDOWN?? ha ha ha

First thing is drivers upgrade, be sure that printers, routers...etc. will go kaput!..my wireless router did, I had no Internet access had to use LAN cable to connect & DL the driver from Computer Vendor site..in my case, ACER!

Never had this problem, when I switched to MAC OS..no steep learning curve...

My ssd is old. I bought it in 2010. Yup mine is also 120GB but i store large files like hd movies, games etc on my regular 720rm drives.

Anyway imagine how much faster ssds are right now. Now SATA 3 is utilized with the newer mobos and the newer ssds can run on sata 3. I'm actually wanting to try it but i would need to buy a new ssd.

Think the direction now is to hav an os with cross platform capabilities...one tat can be use on desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile phone...and most importantly...able to integrate...

While it is easy for home user to change from 1 os to another, since as long as it is able to surf, read email, login Sbf n diap ppl:p ...not so for business and government...eg...moi company had over 50k of pc, laptop, server etc worldwide...all de in house sw is written n run in window environment...it is almost impossible to "jump ship" to another os...

While desktop and laptop had no problem logging onto the network...tablet and mobile phone can't...wat if 1 day...tis also become possible? Wat if 1 day de set of MS office u hav r able to run on ur desktop, laptop, tablet and phone?

Tis is something entirely new...and they probably can't design it exactly the same as convention win os...we are so use to I guess...

Ok, got myself a copy (original) from Challenger this evening ($ 79.00 for member with a free Canon PIXMA MP237 Printer).

From the above feedback, looks like it will be wise to hold back upgrading for awhile.
