i dunno whether i m the only skeptic or do most of u feel the same?

we do not win medals. NEVER in fact. we only use lots of money to BUY medals.

up till now, i still cannot figure out the logic of winning medals especially they are not won by our very own true-blue singaporeans. i m very unhappy at the effort, time and excessive resources spent on FTs especially the PRCs to treat them exclusively just to be able to win some medals.

are those "bought" medals really worth the money, time and effort? i wonder.

do i feel proud? no and never. the PRCs are no different from mercenaries - being paid excessively to do a job and most of the tme, not even close to a good job.

starting with the olympic games in beijing, i have stopped watching embedded PRCs in singapore teams competing against chinese teams. so boring!

why is our gov chasing something that isn't accomplish by our own people? is there any reason to feel proud about it? after all, the gov only waste precious resources and treat all these prcs like something of olympic gods when the money wasted could be put in better use like training our own prospective sportskids. even if they do not win anything, at least they are our very own singaporeans. and still i shall feel proud for them.

olympic games should state that representatives from each individual countries should be represented by their own native citizens and not "bought" players from elsewhere.

that should be the sportsmanship and olympic spirit.

as can be seen clearly, after gov has wasted so much $, it doesn't even come close to a bronze medal. either they are stupid in their purchasing power or they should ve bought the BEST they can grab fr china.

won't be surprised that prcs reprsenting sgp for the table-tennis shall lose to prcs representing china. why don't gov buy the best team fr prc then? like that sure win the artificial GOLD our freaking gov is so obsessed with.
