Changi Cove's security will be a million time better than Sentosa's Cove that's for sure.

Those high barb-wired fences will deter any trespassers from coming into his house....lol.

He'll probably get plenty of sex in Changi Prison too. His physical needs will be taken care of.

Very profitable biz. Fatt Choy knew his time has come so he divorced his wife quickly to keep the money. When he's out of the prison, he'll still a rich man. I'm not sure whether the guy I had talked to have already left the church or not.

There is ample evidence to suggest that even Kong Hee's academic credentials in theology are fake.

City Harvest 'has not paid bail, legal fees for accused'

Source Straits Times
Date 27 Jul 2012

CITY Harvest Church has come out to say that it is neither posting bail nor paying the legal fees for six of its senior leaders facing charges of misuse of funds.

The mega church said in an e-mail response to queries from The Straits Times yesterday: 'City Harvest Church has not paid for any bail nor legal fees for the individuals.'

Questions on who is footing the $500,000 bail and possibly up to $1 million in legal fees for each of them have been raised. Except for the church's founding pastor Kong Hee, five of its leaders have hired Senior Counsel, considered the elite in their profession, and who can command fees of more than $1,000 an hour.

The former finance manager of the church, Serina Wee, became the sixth and latest to be embroiled in the case revolving around the alleged misuse of more than $50 million in church funds when she was charged on Wednesday. The 35-year-old faces six counts of criminal breach of trust and four of falsifying accounts.

Kong, 47, and four others were charged last month. He faces three charges of criminal breach of trust.

Church management board member John Lam Leng Hung, 44, faces three similar counts.

Kong's deputy Tan Ye Peng, 39, church finance manager Sharon Tan, 36, and investment manager Chew Eng Han, 52, face seven to 10 charges of criminal breach of trust and falsifying accounts.

Kong's bail was posted by his parents-in-law, it was reported previously. It is uncertain who put up bail for the others; their lawyers have either cited confidentiality or have not responded to queries.

Senior Counsel involved are Mr Chelva Rajah of Tan, Rajah and Cheah, Mr Kannan Ramesh of Tan Kok Quan Partnership, Mr Kenneth Tan of Kenneth Tan Partnership, Mr Francis Xavier of Rajah and Tann, and Mr Andre Maniam of WongPartnership.

Overseas Christian Community Support CHC Leaders In Court
Posted on 25 July 2012

Christian leaders from around the region turn up at the Subordinate Courts on Wednesday morning to stand with CHC.

By The City News Team

July 25, 2012 — City Harvest Church members who showed up at the Court 26 of the Subordinate Courts this morning were not alone. Christian leaders from across the region showed up early at the court to provide moral support to the accused CHC members.

Wayne Chang, pastor of Hsin Tien Covenant Church in Taipei, Taiwan, says, “I feel that this is the time for us from all around the world to stand together; we believe in what Pastor (Kong) is doing, and we believe in his integrity, as well as that of the others being charged.”

The six—senior pastor Kong Hee, deputy senior pastor Tan Ye Peng, Chew Eng Han, John Lam, Sharon Tan and former finance staff, Serina Wee—appeared in Court 26 at 9 a.m. this morning with their lawyers. Wee, a new addition to the case, has been charged with 10 criminal charges.

Kong is represented by Edwin Tong of Allen & Gledhill. Chelva Rajah, senior counsel at Tan Rajah Cheah and N Sreenivasan of Straits Law are representing Tan Ye Peng. Chew Eng Han is represented by Francis Xavier, senior counsel at Rajah & Tann. John Lam is represented by senior counsel Kenneth Tan of Kenneth Tan Partnership and Nicholas Narayanan of Nicholas & Tan. Kannan Ramesh, senior counsel at Tan Kok Quan and Jeffrey Ong of JLC Advisors are representing Sharon Tan, while Serina Wee is represented by Andre Maniam, senior counsel at Wong Partnership.

The six looked calm and rested as they entered the court, which was presided over by district judge Lim Tse Haw. The gallery was filled with over 150 CHC members, with many more waiting outside, who were unable to get in as the gallery was full and standing was not allowed.

The foreign pastors were of one spirit in their support of the accused members and the church.

Dave Thong, 34, and Silvara Junus, 36, pastors of Rhema Church, Sitiawan, Malaysia, came to “give Pastor Kong, his leaders and CHC moral support the best we can. They are our spiritual family and dear friends to us. We will continue to fast and pray for their deliverance. They have our full support.”

Garrick Li, 32, lead pastor of Grace Church in Taiwan, admitted that, “My heart was heavy and solemn seeing Pastor Kong inside the court. I believe in his character, I believe in the team and we are one family with CHC.”

Encouragement for the church came from Franklin Lumoindong, 56, senior pastor of GPdI Elohim, Sidoarjo, Indonesia: “We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, and we are very sure this will work for good for Pastor Kong, Pastor Tan and the church. We know that all the projects that CHC has done are for winning the lost for God, and we believe that through this case, God is preparing bigger things for CHC.”

“I was glad to see that Pastor Kong was calm and collected, that he was still smiling and greeting all the people who were there,” said Jeremy Yeo, 34, the pastor of CHC Brunei.

“I knew God was in control.

“I stand with Pastor Kong and Pastor Tan because I have seen and experienced first-hand how they are when there are no lights, no stage, no cameras. They genuinely love, believe in people and will do all they can to help anyone whom they encounter.”

As they left the court, the individuals were accompanied by church members as they calmly made their way to their respective vehicles.

The pre-trial conference is set for August 30 at Court 17. It will be conducted behind closed doors.

Disgusting to note how KH believes he will be "vindicated". Same thing the NUS Prof Tey said after recieving gifts/sex from law student.

Does the religion KH subscribe to encourage recalcitrant behaviour? When he quotes how God will protect him from "enemies" and "adversaries", he forgets that he is (1) his own enemy and/or (2) he is the conman, not the victim.

These people make themselves look/sound like martyrs dying for a noble cause.

Actually NUS Prof. Tey didn't deny the charges when approached by the media. He merely said his liberty, livelihood and integrity at stake, and that his family is affected.

Well, Tey knowingly traded his "liberty, livelihood and integrity" for cheapskate and licentious behaviour with a student. Why does he act like a victim? If one commits crime, he/she must bear with the guilt/nagging thought that the misdeeds will be uncovered one day. If he loved his family and treasured his career, why did he trash both for Mont Blanc pen, iPodT, shirts and get someone to foot his bill? Where was his professionalism and integrity THEN?

Typical of a lawyer: saying something without revealing anything.

Totally agree. Had an annoying ex-classmate (lawyer) who went round boasting of a new impending job. When I asked what was this new opportunity about after I congratulated the person, the curt and arrogant reply I received was: "I will let you know in DUE COURSE."

You're absolutely spot on. I wish you were one of the journalists outside the Subordinate Courts. I want to see his "legal acumen" when this question is thrown at him.
