Yet another cranky, useless tool from LTA.

It was reported in ST yesterday that the LTA is conducting a trial later with 80 members of the public to test an online application to tell commuters how crowded the next bus will be.

Information on how crowded it will be via colours - GREEN if there are seats, AMBER if standing room only and RED for very crowded. And I am deep PURPLE with rage.

Of what use is the info to commuters when all they really need is to catch the next bus and get to work.

LTA claims that it is PART OF A SYSTEM to make information more readily available for commuters "to plan their journey."

They should focus on getting basics right, perform their assigned and basic roles and get on with their jobs.

Actually it is not really that useless. If I see that the next 3 buses coming are all red (crowded) I might decide not to wait anymore and take a cab instead if I am in a hurry.

If the buses are so crowded the same is probably true with the cabs.

Now I know where money goes to and why it is never enough. When the solutions are not to solve the root of the problem but to cover up problems arising from wrong planning you will know which it is all heading.

Same code code for the trains?, then amber, red & purple, you head up to take the bus , the same colour appears & then cabs which is always purple, for 24 hour a day; they are constantly busy, changing shifts! & out of sight, especially when it rains.

Your colour code will be GREEN then red & then purple..for you are LATE!!

We already have an apps from LTA & that IRIS? why do we need to have this? a waste of money. Anyone remembers the CAB SHARING system, cooked up by the "mandarins" of ROV ( LTA)?? wasted public money & was a failure?

But, they are making so much money, to justify their existence, they must come up with 'hare brain' schemes. But, we are a country of charitable people, we contribute COE, slot in our cash card & 'give' ERP fees; each time we pass the gantry , the unit will issue a sound that says "DIEU"!! ha ha ha

That is why mega churches learn from them, each time to go there & ptl, you slot in your Credit/Debit/EZlink/Cash cards... it is the same, but it is unholy to "dieu" in church..most likely, "Hallelujah" almost the same as "dieu" thanks for the money!

This is what some civil servants are good at, "transferring problem". Now with this system, when the buses are pack and you complain that you are always late, they can tell you. See, I have a system to tell you that it is packed and it was you who cannot plan in advance. It is becomes a diversion from the main issue.

And what about this stupid EMAS thing along the highways - telling me that there is an accident along the Highway when I need to take a slip road is no bloody use to me. And telling me that it will take "x" minutes - big deal. I am either late or I am not, as our much revered Wong Cunt Seng would say.

Those are just eye candy, you are stuck in a JAM on one of the expressway, the line is moving like a snail ( they move faster), there is an accident somewhere out there, the radio will announce that there is an accident on XXXX, please avoid, but you are already stuck in it for 1 hour. The EMAS says 5 minutes to xx, 10 minutes to xxx.. One begin to wonder, what are all the traffic cameras so many of them along the highways?? they are dummies I suppose. So, believe the EMAS at your own intelligent.

First and foremost, LTA and Bus operators need to find the solution in solving packed buses and not to invent a stupid silly tool to tell commuters that the bus is packed.. Commuters got eyes.. They are not blind.. They can see whether the bus is empty or full..

LOL.. Thats the point.. Just imagine if you're late for work for 3 straight days and telling the boss that the buses are all Red and you had to wait for another bus.. The Boss will be happy to give you the Red card and replace you with a cheaper FT from India..

No need for the LTA to waste money.. There's a cheaper way.. Tell the Bus drivers to wave a Red Flag on his window when his bus is 20m from a bus stop.. This is to tell commuters that the bus is full.. Green flag for half full.. Yellow coloured flag for empty.. Black coloured flags to inform commuters that the bus is full with IT Ah Nehs on their way to work..
