The FAP is still treating SGs as daft. Nothing has changed. Let's see if HG voters can remain steadfast in their refusal to yield to the Devil!

SINGAPORE: Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean said on Wednesday that the Workers' Party (WP) candidate for Hougang, Mr Png Eng Huat, was not truthful about why he was not selected to represent the WP as a Non-Constituency MP (NCMP).
Mr Teo referred to statements from Mr Png to the media over the last few days and WP secretary-general's remarks at a rally.
In a statement to the media on Wednesday, Mr Teo said that it is not unusual for WP candidates to say that they are personally opposed to the NCMP scheme but to accept the post later.
At the People's Action Party's (PAP) rally last Sunday, Mr Teo had asked why the WP had not selected Mr Png to be an NCMP but still sent him as a candidate to Hougang.
On Monday, Mr Png told Channel NewsAsia that he had taken his name out of the ballot for the NCMP post because he had a personal stand against the NCMP scheme.
But a day later, he said he still had to go through the process of balloting even though he made his stand clear to his East Coast GRC team, the party's Secretary-General Low Thia Khiang and a few other party leaders.
A leaked copy of the minutes of the WP's extraordinary meeting on this issue held in May last year showed that Mr Png's name was on the ballot paper.
At the WP rally on Tuesday night, Mr Low claimed that the publication of the minutes was to "intentionally damage the party" and "sabotage" Mr Png's campaign.
Mr Low also said that all the members of the losing East Coast GRC's team members were considered for the NCMP post, regardless of their personal inclination.
The decision lay solely with the party's Central Executive Council (CEC), added Mr Low.
In his statement on Wednesday, Mr Teo said this was the opposite of the picture that Mr Png first tried to paint - that he had taken his name off the ballot and that he was not considered for the NCMP post because he did not want it.
"Thus Mr Low confirmed that Mr Png had not been telling the truth, and had indeed been rejected by the WP CEC as an NCMP," said Mr Teo. "This is the real damage to the WP and Mr Png's reputations."
The revelations of the past two days raise a new and serious question, while still leaving the original question unanswered.
"The new question is Mr Png's integrity. Mr Png was not truthful when he tried to explain away why the WP did not select him as an NCMP," said Mr Teo.
"And Hougang voters should still have an answer to the key question that remains unanswered after two and a half hours of talking last night: If Hougang is so important to the WP, why did WP decide to send Mr Png, a candidate whom their CEC clearly decided was not good enough to send to Parliament last year?" said Mr Teo.
"Voters should re-consider whether the WP is just tugging at their emotions but actually taking voters for granted. For a first world Parliament, the basic pre-requisite is that parliamentarians must be honest and truthful," added Mr Teo.
=> Is this question also targetted at the FAP?
Mr Low said his party will respond to Mr Teo's comments at Thursday night's WP rally.
Mr Png meanwhile continued to campaign in Hougang ward on Wednesday. He did not want the media to be present.
