Dr CT Chew is one of the best ENT surgeons in Singapore. Dr CC Lau was his trainee when they were both in SGH ENT Department at that time.
Oh, I see! Thanks for the information!

No wonder they are both on emenders...
Dr CT Chew is one othe best ENT surgeons in Singapore on wonder his price $400+. His hobby is sailing and I think he owns a yacht.
I once calculated that he earns at least nearly S$2 million of revenue (but profit, I'm not sure) every year from his private practice!
I remember first seeing him in the 1990s at Mount Elizabeth and he's really that popular and reliable!
His net worth is probably in the "very high" category, i.e. at least S$5 million, which is also the minimum amount for the "private bank" clients of DBS and UOB:

biz in japan always repackaging a service or product until very nice
I totally agree, which is why there have been many times I wish I could migrate to Japan for good...
Even though it's not perfect, it's still my favourite culture in the world...
But unfortunately, I still have many obstacles in my life to overcome first... *sigh*
May I know, how many times did you visit this Dr CT Chew to rectify the problem? How's the treatment like?
In the past decade, 3 times at intervals of around 4 years because I go only when I really need to, i.e. when I feel that there's really too much earwax stuck inside; but it's only at the most recent appointment last year when my right ear was nearly deaf due to too much earwax...
Treatment is definitely good and worth the S$400+, but because Dr Chew has so many patients everyday, he can seem "unfriendly", i.e. not willing to talk much because of insufficient time, but as the saying goes, "actions speak louder than words", and he has consistently provided 100% satisfactory service for me, even until now when he's already around 60.
My dad also having similiar problem like you.. Maybe its due to his many years of working in the SIA hangar.. I thinkin of bringin him to a good ENT specialist soon.. Sometimes its bit exasperating having a chat with him due to his mild hearing problem..
In my opinion, the issue now is whether there's a serious NEED or if there's no serious need, do you WANT to bring your father to see an ENT specialist for a checkup anyway? And of course, you'll have to budget at least a few hundred S$...
wow digging ear also 400+ ?
Anyway, why pay $400 to dig ear?
The endoscopy (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endoscopy#Uses) alone is S$300+, and that seems to be the same for most other private specialists...
And the consultation fee is about S$100.
i think hes digging your gold lah .
Yes, I was aware of that because I seem to remember that my second-last appointment some years ago was much cheaper...
Or maybe it's because last year, my problem was much more serious...
Or maybe it's because of "inflation"?
Anyway, I can't be sure of the real reasons...
Oh yes, I just remembered that he likes to "casually" ask his patients about their occupations, so that's probably how he sizes his patients up, i.e. how rich/poor they are, before charging them accordingly...
I thought the correct liquid to use is olive oil? That will soften the wax.
Yes, Dr Chew also told me that olive oil can help a bit, but it won't help much if my earwax problem is more serious...
So the most reliable solution is still to see an ENT specialist...
