I agree on this, he failed in food safety and I bet there is two different menus for YOG and only when exposed, he improved the menu
guys who have served NS, you know how different they treat the VIP, they can also claim to eat the 'same food' - specially prepared by the same cook house.
The food is specially cooked by specially selected cook, inspected throughly by the QM, checked by the encik, vetted by the MO.
Of course they will eat in the same mess, as the men, who on that day get good foor like the 1 in a 50 year flood thing.
The area will be thoroughly cleaned by the GD men, scrubbed & sanitized to perfection.
The VIP will proclaim that they had eaten the same food & sat down at same mess as the men.
if that VIP insist on eating the same food that the men eats everyday, prepared by the army cooks & eat in the mess, the same as it is everyday I WILL PERSONALLY SALUTE that person!!

This is healthy practice as athletes burn lots of calories and fats during training and competition. Volunteers are just on light duties, eat too much will gain unwanted and unhealthy weight.

My generation has no problem eating SAF cookhouse food because everybody eats (and throws away in protest) the same garbage the trainee cooks churned out.
I must say that some of the HQ SAF cookhouses during my time has better quality than paid canteen chup-chai-phng or nasi-chumpor hawker fare. This is because the master cooks were the best in SAFs serving at HQ level.
Because of the "specials" some SAF senior officers during my NS days were obese and cannot pass IPPT.
