Thats why I have to agree that Dr.Chee is doing the right thing by contesting hard. In fact, he has no choice but to contest hard.
WP made a serious mistake by starting three corner fight the last GE.

Dr Chee Soon Juan, please do not force the issue and try to be a hero in this Punggol East by-election. If the WP refuses to bend and give way to the SDP to stand for this BE, then gracefully vacate the slot.

If you do not and instead stubbornly hold your ground, you will not only be doing the electorate a disservice, but also get yourself pulverised once again.
As we all know, if that happens, the MIW will be the ones laughing all the way to the bank to claim their seat once again. And this will only serve to disappoint your supporters once again.
You yourself know the number of times you have been booted out in such contests in the past. Don’t forget: the more times you lose, the lesser your credibility becomes.

So, for heavens sake, Mr Chee, save your fight for another day, and let WP face the MIW in a one-to-one showdown. Your supporters will look up to you for your magnanimity, and your popularity and credibility will rise.
From the way it looks, this is not your fight. Your turn will come very soon. So please pull out graciously before it’s too late — and gain the people’s respect and admiration.

many would now realise that even sdp can't win, they would also try to stop wp from winning lest sdp would lose more credibility and wp would end up stronger in the event they win the BE. it's like if i cannot have it, i would help or let u have it too.

It matters very little to WP whether it can or cannot win this by election. One more seat in parliament is not going to make any difference, since pap has supermajority. Taking over punggol east has its risk, which may outweigh the rewards. WP eyes are firmly fixed on next GE. They will want to take down another one or two grc.

WP should step aside for teh sake of the best interest of the people.
They already have 6 in the parliament and all not doing well. What for greedy for another one? Why not focus their efforts of doing better with what they already have? Lets be reasonable like Dr.Chee.

pap wants complete 100% domination if they could. now it has caused great stress and embarrassment to pinky. never in pap's rule has it lost so many wards.

wp has broken the record held once by sdp under chiam see tong. if chee hadn't butt in and disrupted everything, sdp might have been the leading opp today with cst in charge.
