When investors start leaving Singapore, not only the foreign workers follow, many Singaporeans will lose their jobs, opposition parties don't tell you this. When foreign investors are here, they are not only doing their business here, not just setting up shop, hiring people, they are involved in many other economic transactions in Singapore.
Singaporeans should set a broader sights and not to be fooled by the opposition parties. It is not about losing 1 or 2 companies, it is not about losing a few workers, the impact on Singapore is more than just losing the few companies.

Fear tactic don't work anymore.

If I recall, one HDD company moved their production out many years ago then quietly came back because their new plant cannot deliver products that are close to those manufactured in SGP.

The Scandinavian countries are not mediocre. They have done it right - people are paying high taxes but they are not complaining as they realize that they are getting services which would be prohibitively expensive if paid for out-of-pocket.
You live life there ...don't sweat over cost of health care, daycare or job insecurity.

And their economies are growing steadily ...no double digit growth but at a measured pace of 2-4 percent ....sufficient to raise standard of living and support their way of life.

What is there to invest in sinkapore, in any case?

After 50 years of nationhood, sinkapore should have a few big MNCs ...instead we have all these SMEs playing a losing game and the government nurture them by giving them more cheap labour ...so they continue to make pop-piah skin instead of MRIs or Google Glass.

Flextronics, which is supposed a sinkapore company, has its main R&D in US, not in sinkapore. Why? We have hundreds of thousands of cheap foreign PMET who could do R&D work (or so they claimed) but Flex decided that they don't want the cheap stuff here and instead opt for the higher cost option.
