did he invite his good friend:

“All those who met the great man from the little country were lectured on how Malaysia should be run.”

“Singapore is a tiny country. Don’t talk big.”

- Mahathir Mohamed, Prime Minister of Malaysia

and another good friend

“Why is he still so afraid? I honestly think that through the years he has accumulated enough skeletons in his closet that he knows that when he is gone, his son and the generations after him will have a price to pay. If we had parliamentary debates where the opposition could pry and ask questions, I think he is actually afraid of something like that.”

“Mr Lee Kuan Yew kept on repeating how he built up this country and how much he has stored in the reserves. That is the tragedy of the man. For all his intelligence, he does not possess the wisdom of life. …
Mr Lee Kuan Yew fights all his demons within himself to try to shore up his reputation. In the process, however, he destroys the very legacy that he so desperately desires to establish.”

- Chee Soon Juan, Secretary-General of the Singapore Democratic Party

What's the point of having a grand birthday celebration for someone who cannot even turn up?

And what's with the getup of Hsien Yang? Trying to be Bruce Lee? Even the Chinamen came in Western suits!

Old Fart can't be bothered anymore with this kind of big celebration to honour him..

He wants to prepare himself for the ' Big Day '.. A reunion with his beloved Gecko is all that matters to him..

Pictorial book tells story of Lee Kuan Yew's life

Saturday, Sep 07, 2013

SINGAPORE - A bilingual pictorial book that chronicles the life of Mr Lee Kuan Yew was launched on Friday, to commemorate his 90th birthday on Sept 16.

Titled Lee Kuan Yew: A Life in Pictures, the 268-page book contains a curated collection of about 480 photographs.

It includes more than 100 never-before-published pictures, some from Mr Lee's personal and family albums that capture private moments between Singapore's first prime minister and his late wife Kwa Geok Choo, as well as their three children.

The book is published by Straits Times Press, the book publishing subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings. A copy was presented to Mr Lee at his Istana office on Friday by SPH CEO Alan Chan.

Work on the book started in January, and the team involved included The Straits Times' Picture Editor Stephanie Yeow, correspondent Cassandra Chew, and senior writer Leong Weng Kam; and Lianhe Zaobao news editor Han Yong May and executive photographer Spencer Chung.

The team sourced for images from Mr Lee's family, old friends, colleagues, grassroots leaders, government agencies and even collectors of Lee Kuan Yew paraphernalia. The result is a pictorial spread that not only covers the breadth of his achievements, but also reveals his more intimate side.

The book will be available at leading bookstores for $70 (inclusive of GST) from Saturday. It can also be ordered online at http://www.stpressbooks.com.sg.

it's a truthful and genuine respect and tribute to a truly Singaporean leader
nothing to do with currying favours or any form of shoring up
you can see how humble and respectful they are - very touching and I am moved to tears by their devotion and dedication
what a wonderful gift for a birthday present
we have great people and we have one very great leader in our country
majulah singapura!!!!

The catalogue of shaming tactics:

http://exposingfeminism.wordpress.com/shaming-tactics/

Charge of Irascibility (Code Red)

Discussion: The target is accused of having anger management issues. Whatever negative emotions he has are assumed to be unjustifiable. Examples:

“You’re bitter!”
“You need to get over your anger at the PAP.”
“You are so negative!”
Response: Anger is a legitimate emotion in the face of injustice. It is important to remember that passive acceptance of evil is not a virtue.

If this is a private affair, and not funded by tax payers,,,old fart can have as many of such dinners as long as he pays for it,,,but knowing the Lees, the tab will ultimately be paid by the state.

BTW has it been confirmed that Old Fart paid for his late wife's special SIA flight from London to Spore?

and who paid for his late wife's funeral? there was honour guard etc for a private citizen, what right has a private citizen entitled to a honour guard?

Everyone is paying, give advance peh kim. This time they get 10 course dinner, the real one they eat only chicken curry and Fanta orange.

Honour guard like cisco? for rent? who pay?
