It tells you unlike SMC, GRC is huge can of worms.They played with this and now they are going to get burnt. Unlike SMC, you cannot afford to sacrifice 5 people thru the meticulous selection process. You also cannot expect them to agree to stand. You can get away with one of two but you still need strong anchor candidates that can fight the inertia of an incumbent who is just coasting along without making mistakes.

That leaves a reduced candidate pool for this GRC. You are then left with the Zainal's of the world who were supposed to retire. People will see thru it.

My sense is that the PAP will actually write off the Aljunied GRC and defend those that are marginal. If a particular PAP member volunteers it will be a person like Teo Ser Luck who is not Minister Material and there fore will take the plunge to prove his worth and get a plumb assignment but certainly not a ministry.

Methinks the PAP has crossed the Rubicon and there's no turning back the clock. I even daresay they may lose another GRC in Ge2016. The populace has tasted blood. I do heard that by 2016,Emeritus SM Goh Chok Tong and Teo Ser Luck may be moving in to challenge LTK in Aljunied GRC.Isn't that correct??If its that so,then the PAP may stand some close chance to grab back from them all.....Should CSM move down to East Coast GRC to lead a team there????If possible,Lim Swee Say may have some hard time to outwit him.....
Should one of East Coast wards,Simei may be carved out as an SMC and put Joo Chiat in place,should either the NSP or the WP may contest against the PAP???It is much possible that NSP may contest there as it is much closer to Tampines and there would be possibly a three cornered fight......
