There is a rumour going on around that a man was beaten up in a coffee shop in Geylang two weeks ago. Curiously his assailants shoved a banana into the victim's mouth while he laid unconscious. Witnesses said the victim was seen debating politics with a group of men and heard him calling them retards and other insulting terms. Anyone can confirm the rumour?

My neighbour was there to witness it. I missed it by an hour or two. There were only four assailants all armed with a parang arriving in a taxi. Their targets were a group of rivals in a KTV with Vietnamese girls. 30? Perhaps too high an estimate, perhaps just like the so-called "10,000" at AMK Hub to congratulate ping pong players? But it's true one man's dead with arm severed. Geylang Road was patrolled by at least four SOC red police buses that night probably till dawn. All the assailants escaped and were on the loose, as of 3a.m. when we left.
