Lance Armstrong definitely has doped in his cycling, no one has won 7 times Tour de France in history
(Possible? Not possible by any Cyclist...in today's bike technology and scientific training)
Lance must have cleverly concealed his doping with another kind of drugs that neutralised EPO
when Federation test on his urine....so far and has escaped many times,, only found out twice!

If you strip lance of his wins, who do you award them to?

Jan Ullrich who finished second to Lance on numerous occasions was doped to the eyeballs and left cycling in disgrace so he can't inherit the top step. Neither can Ivan Basso, Mancebo, Beloki etc. In fact, you'd probably have to look outside the top 10 list for someone who isn't tainted.

The authorities should put that era behind them and concentrate on the current generation. There's no point beating a dead horse.

what do you think of Indurain's wins?. I watched some of them. He was supposed to have larger and more efficient lungs than most people.

Actually I don't know why all these big hoohah anti-drug sentiments? By banning them, we're only holding back development in science for building a better human. Why so backward looking? By making people stronger, faster, heal quicker - isn't that what improvement in quality of life should be about? Doping should be openly practiced, and information should be made available eventually to the common man.

All the wins during that EPO era were well deserved. Everyone was doping. If you didn't dope, you'd be 10 minutes behind after a week of racing. Since everyone was on something, there was no net gain from drug use and it was back to who had the best engine.

The use of EPO and steroids harms the body in the long term even though there are short term gains. Young athletes who want to take up an endurance sport should not be forced to consume or inject substances that could kill them prematurely.

I doubt if that was the case. There were various drugs available but they were all trying to achieve the same thing which was to get the hematocrit level as close as possible to 50% which was the limit beyond a rider would not be allowed to start a race and would have to stand down from competition for a period.

EPO was merely a means to an end. It's not as if they boosted performance by themselves.

When it came to recovery after a long day in the saddle, synthetic testosterone was the drug of choice. It helped recovery tremendously. Landis proved this beyond doubt.

Blood doping (with one's own blood) was the method of the 21st century as it was undetectable until a few years ago.

i think blood doping started very much earlier. When some italian won some marathon beating the africans this came to light.

It was done like carbo loading.....the guys had a buffet of their own blood the night before the competition.

Blood doping (with one's own blood) was the method of the 21st century as it was undetectable until a few years ago.
