No problem, better to know they're wrong than not knowing at all. Any Malay expert around to say what is right? :smile: Yeah all dictionary translation using Google translator, first translate from English to Malay and then back from Malay to English to double check.

Should be melancap..no chap inside lah..think in Malay, all the "c" pronounced as "ch"...anyway, those above 18 can learn this word but this thread targets both female and male audience for learning Malay, so no sexual jokes hor..

i'm not too sure about this one sis. Most of the words i learnt when i was young. Dont recall coming across the word 'divorce' ....so i guess got to

trust the translator. Whoami should know.....dia champion la.:smile:

how about divorce? from translator divorce = perceraian..

Finally have chance to practise my Malay with contractors and workers. Some common words used when talking to them are:

belum - not yet
sudah - already (done)
mau - want
tak mau - don't want
ada - have
tiada - no
tambah - add
nukar - change
buang - throw
sampah - rubbish
atas - above (floor)
bawah - below (floor)
semua - all (house)
depan - front
belakang - back
besok pagi/petang - tomorrow morning/afternoon
satu kali, dua kali - one time, two times etc
satu hari, minggu - one day, one week
cuci - wash
cat - paint
tingkap - window
pintu - door
dinding - wall
tangga - staircase
rumput - grass

Good for fellow Singaporeans who don't know Malay to know these words for self help when liaising with contractors and workers.
