I like Siglap. A very nice part of Singapore. Yet to be totally over-run by foreigners.
Yeah bro...what are you talking about?
Have you not noticed the FTs hanging about siglap or you havent been around on the weekends?
Indons especially...i really dunno why they started migrating east from orchard road....
Moving slightly up Siglap to Bedok South. Here is a photo of Temasek JC when it was first build in 1976. Notice the empty land to the right and back of the track. Now its all Condos.

How about Opera Estate, Fidelio St and Frankel Ave. Still mainly chinese dominated.

The old Opera Estate consist of Fidelio Street, Maria Ave, Jln Talan Bulang, Swan Lake, Aida Street, Taman Siglap.
Talking about Opera Estate, a relative of mine, who's an Opera Estate property agent cum specialist, told me of a very sordid murder of a housewife at 32, Maria Avenue, which made the news. She was murdered with multiple knife-wounds and one shafted through her mouth and another shafted through her pussy, among other wounds. The suspect went for the funeral and was caught. It is believed the suspect was her lover, even though she was married. It's all in the morning and evening news, I was told.
.
Area not very big leh:o It's baba and chinese dominated, some no speaka chinese.:(
Also quite a few Eurasians around this area too ...Pereira, Scully, Rodrigues etc. Most are ex St Stephens and St Pats boys
Ya, with classmates name Chelliah, Skadiang, Fletcher, Klein.(spelling may be wrong)
Up the slope there is still a Malay's cementary.
That's an Indo-baba way of addressing a dignified madam..something Like Ku-niang for Chinese..Skadiang does not sound very Eurasian, at least not to me. Have not met anyone with this family name.
