The People's Association was never a non-partisan organization.

Part of the difficulty in understanding this comes from the weasel word 'People's'... which may be misconstrued as something that 'belongs to the people' or 'an entity for everyone'. Some social club nested within the HDB heartlands where you can hang out and make friends.

PA works on government national programs, which includes giving out of the SG50 funpacks. So, why should the opposition be involved when they are not considered part of the government? Besides, if you look at your SG50 funpack, there are no PAP logos anywhere. Can you say the same for WP grassroots' movement, where their party logos are prominently displayed? PA's grassroots is way more neutral than WP's grassroots.
