It's a mirage that PAP are trying to paint us, importing FTS by the masses is about numbers, GDP that is.
Infrastructure makes us rich? Yes, temporary and a very expensive one that needs to play catch up and renew all the time and huge cost of maintenance. Where as, invest and natured in talented Singaporean is the way to go. Infrastruture are really passive and need lots of marketing and even more goodies ( tax deduction and so forth ) to attract MNCs, that history has also taught us they can relocate as easy as they come. Talented individual are a completely different, they are active, progressive and spread out across the world, bringing revenue where their business thrive and they can only gets better with time. Secondly, more Singapore would be hired, trained and spread it's wing thorughout the world. Not only that, locals with be inspired by their success and emulate. Which infrastructure can't.
