Precisely because I was in the SAF for a while, I can tell you Colonel Lim, Chief Commando Officer, has no clue who is packing his chutes. Since u did not appear to serve as a regular, I suggest u go back to raping your grandchild and leave these discussions to people who know. being in Armour formation before, I can tell you that many vendors and contractors are not singaporeans. they are angmos posted to singapore by their companies which are trying to win business with the SAF or who already have contracts with the SAF. How do you vet these people? They are from another country. You are relying on the contractor to vet them for you. They could be serial rapists, spies, ardent communists, etc. no one in the SAF knows. back then, so many vendors were trying to win contracts to replace the AMX-13, and contracts for laser range finders, ballistic computers etc. I have seen them get free reign of Area D, and SOA. Once, the SAF put out a tender for ballistic computers/laser range finders for the tanks, and 3 companies showed up for the bid. I saw the French team walk around our tanks sheds looking into the turrets and checking out the competition's products. If you fuck them upside down, they will complain to the liaison officer and you will get shit. Who vet these people? How come they can walk around our most sensitive installations without an armed escort?
If the vendor's staff is sinkies, then its easy to vet. Those riggers hired by ST who were ex commando riggers are easy to vet. But I can bet you right now that ST has hired FTs to work among them. Where are these FTs from and who vetted them? They are vetted by ST, not MINDEF. Given the quality of the other GLC's vetting process (unqualified education or fake degree holders routinely get hired), I have zero confidence that ST would successfully hire vet their staff.
The bottom line is that when MINDEF subcontracts the chute packing to ST, they also subcontracted the vetting process out to them. I am still waiting for the CEO of ST to come out and say what you just said. i.e. that they are vetted and cleaned or that 100% of the riggers are former SAF riggers. The fact that he is silent on this and a fucktard Colonel has to come out and defend him speaks volume about their so call quality control. Got it, asshole?
