My guess is he has a clause inserted in his contract that would allow him to leave if United fails to qualify for CL. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Sack OGS!!!! He's a naive manager where loyalty is placed ahead of form David De Gea has lost his form and confidence for quite a while now. Why he even started ahead of Romero is beyond me.
The players are incredibly scary, switching on and off as they please. They are the main culprits for United's failure to finish top 4.
Watching the performance of the team and the press conference that followed, I can't help but feel OGS should take just as much stick as the players. He has basically kept the same shit of players week in week out and where crappy strategy is concerned, it wouldn't have mattered. Shortcomings of this manager has started to surface. It's only a matter of time b4 he's shown the door.

Say hello to Europa league next season. Of the 12 matches against big 6 this season we won only one.

If we analyse the Chelsea goal, fine, de Gea should do better than palming away. Compare to Everton where he was caught completely unaware, he did better. Question I ask is how on earth does young allow Alonso to ghost to near post to knock in the ball? Should t he be tracking him ?

Dying moments de Gea stopped a certain higuain goal with his arms so I won’t blame him that much

Dg is responsible for the goal. When the ball was played back to Rudiger, the back 4 moved up for the offside trap. The shot came at 35 yards out and DG had an unblock sight of the shot. Tried to catch it but it came off his chest and the rest is history. None of the defenders or the rest of the players would have expected this and certainly not Young. Take note that DG did not shout or blame anyone for the lack of cover. He knew he farked it up.

There is a confidence crisis in DG. The game against Arsenal was so blatantly clear that his head wasn't in the game. What followed was a capitulation on his part. In situations like this, it is the manager who needs to make all the important calls. I thot this was the moment OGS would step up and call on Romero as the few remaining games were winable. It pains me to say OGS was not ruthless enough and he's trying too hard to be the players' manager. There were times when I felt he was waiting for his assistants to tell him what to do next. When you listen to his post match conference, you will hear the same shit ad nauseum.
If OGS starts losing the first few games at the start of the new season, I expect Ed to wield the axe once again. If Phelan accepts the director of football role, there is every chance that OGS will be shown the door. His action and reaction thus far shows him up to be a newbie and a naive one.

Chelsea and Man United actually suffer from a similar problem.

Both football clubs have total morons about football who think themselves to be clever enough to make decisions on which player to sign or not to sign. Decisions on which player to keep and which player to release.

Until that changes, expect more disappointment and frustration.

Ed is a certified idiot and certainly not CEO material. Glazer's blue eyed boy will survive. I wouldn't be surprise if he trades Pogba for Bale this summer.

Chelsea did very well when Emanalo was the chief scout. DeBruyne and Salah are just two of the many talents recruited. Had these two been given the chance, Chelsea would be the dominant team in England today. At least they didn't pay well over the odds for their players.

Marina will join the dole queue once Rusky decides to offload his entire stake in the club. Methinks it will happen soon.

Sack OGS cuz we will be relegated to championship league next season. After 5-6 months the Norwegian noob still doesn't know his strongest tactical formation. The standard they set for player fitness is shocking. Look at Mata and Shaw and before that Lukaku,Lingard and Martial. No wonder we couldn't get a single goal from these clowns.

There are voices who are pleading the club not to do preseason on their shores. They dun want to see overweight players, a clueless manager and certainly do not want to be ripped off by high ticket prices.

Again, I call upon the club to take this decisive action and remove OGS and bring on Ancelotti.

The season is gone before OGS is appointed. This team is devoid of creativity and intensity. They are still showing reminiscent of LVG, stopping the ball before passing. Where is the tempo where is the repeated waves of attacks where is the speed ? All missing.

Ancelotti won’t come. He is building something good at Napoli. Arsene Wenger is desperate and available. U want ?

Napoli doesn't have the resources to compete with Juventus and that's a fact. Juve will win again easily next season. Ancelotti wants to do a rebuilding job at Napoli but they'll still end up playing second fiddle to Juve. Why not come over and rebuild this club with the resources that we have.

United's season was not over cuz they only need to qualify for CL and that was how low they set the bar. They were so close but poor judgement on the part of OGS cost us that opportunity. His loyalty to players is a stark contrast to Mourinho, admirable that may be but the message was lost with the players. He should have made it clear from the outset that only fit and form players will take the pitch. Poor attitude among the players are the main culprit. The manager should share the blame.
What Ancelotti will bring is the technical knowledge and the respect as a winner of domestic and european competitions. His calm demeanour under intense pressure is unmistakable bodes well for any team.
OGS is naive and to claimed that agents of top players were in contact with United is a farking joke. That's what agents do and for every player they tout to big clubs like United, they'll do the same with REAL and Barca. They get a percentage of the transfer fee and that's how they make a living.
I won't be surprise if the bulk of the current players remain and some average talents are brought in to make the numbers.

Paul Pogba ready to push for Real Madrid move -
but first Manchester United must lower £160m valuation

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...ush-real-madrid-move-first-manchester-united/

Paul Pogba is ready to push for a summer transfer to Real Madrid – but his hopes of a move are likely to hinge on Manchester United dramatically lowering their £160 million valuation.

Ten months after telling United he wanted to quit for Barcelona, the midfielder has set his heart on a move to Real and that desire has only been strengthened by the Old Trafford club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.
With United finishing outside the top four for the fourth time in six seasons after Sunday’s dismal 1-1 draw at bottom club Huddersfield, Pogba will miss out on a £1.875m Champions League qualification bonus, although it is understood that would be partly offset by a rise in his basic salary.
United have insisted publicly that Pogba will not be sold but, aware that their record £89m signing is unsettled, they must decide if it is worth keeping an unhappy player against his will.

Ed Woodward, United’s executive vice-chairman, refused to sell Pogba last August when the midfielder told him he wanted to join Barcelona and the player ended up on a public collision course with former manager Jose Mourinho.

Real seem to be banking on Pogba agitating for a move in the hope of driving down his asking price.
It is believed United might be willing to listen to offers of about £160m for Pogba but there is little evidence to suggest the Madrid giants could afford such an outlay at a time when they are also targeting Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and their planned summer revamp appears contingent on offloading players.

With their intermediate accounts relating to the first half of the 2018-19 season revealing there was no cash in the club during last summer or this January’s transfer windows, Real are likely to need to sell players such as James Rodriguez, Mateo Kovacic, Isco and Gareth Bale to generate substantial funds, unless there is another plan in place.
Mino Raiola, Pogba’s agent, has held talks with Real and it is possible he will tell Woodward once the season is over that the Spanish club are prepared to offer about £100m, a slight increase on the fee United paid Juventus in 2016.

Yet that is way below United’s valuation. The 26-year-old has two years to run on his contract but United have an option to extend that by another 12 months to June 2022.
Juventus and Paris St-Germain have been tentatively linked with Pogba but he wants to play under Zinedine Zidane, his compatriot and idol, at Real.
Woodward is reluctant to sell Pogba, who holds huge commercial value, but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – who is already in the market for two midfielders – and his staff may harbour concerns about retaining a player whose heart lies elsewhere and the impact that could have on the dressing room. Some of the rank-and-file United players are already thought to have become frustrated with Pogba.

For his part, Pogba believes United have not improved as he hoped they would when he returned to the club three years ago and he does not want to spend another season in the Europa League. He is not the only player concerned that United may struggle to attract the right players without Champions League football on offer.

Although United players’ salaries will be hit without Champions League football, some will see increases in their basic wages which will partially offset the loss. For example, striker Romelu Lukaku will miss out on a £2m bonus with United in the Europa League but his basic wage will still increase by £1m next season under the terms of his contract.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says there will be a revamping of the Manchester United squad this summer - so which players should survive?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says there will be a revamping of the Manchester United squad this summer - so which players should survive?

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has talked about a “survival of the best” overhaul at Old Trafford as he vows to adopt a “ruthless” approach to revamping Manchester United’s squad.
Telegraph Sport chews over how the cull should look.

Goalkeepers
DAVID DE GEA (Age: 28; Apps: 358; Signed 2011; Contract expires in 2020)
The United No. 1’s form has dipped noticeably in recent months and the uncertainty over his future appears to have become a distraction. He is due to enter the final 12 months of his contract this summer and wants double his existing £240,000 a week to stay.
Verdict: Cash in this summer unless he agrees to compromise on his wages and a new deal can be struck. United cannot allow the goalkeeper to leave for nothing at the end of next season and they will be creating huge problems for themselves down the line if they bow to his demands for parity with top earner Alexis Sanchez.

SERGIO ROMERO (Age: 32; Apps: 44; Signed: 2015; Contract expires in 2021 with option of another year)
The Argentina goalkeeper has kept 26 clean sheets in 44 appearances for United and has been dependable whenever called upon. Solskjaer has plenty of problems to contend with but he has arguably the best No. 2 in the Premier League and that could provide real flexibility with regards to the De Gea situation.

Verdict: Promote to first choice for next season if De Gea is sold and reinvest the money from the Spaniard’s sale in other areas.

Full backs
ASHLEY YOUNG (Age: 33; Apps: 239; Signed: 2011; Contract expires in 2020)
He’s become a scapegoat among supporters in more recent times but it is not his fault successive managers have been so reliant on him in the full-back positions. He should be nothing more than cover. Yet only at a club where the recruitment has been dire could there have remained such an onus for so long on a 33-year-old winger who has been converted into a makeshift full-back.

Verdict: Keep for the final year of his contract - he is a grounded presence in the dressing room and could offer cover next season - before releasing as a free agent.

LUKE SHAW (Age: 23; Apps: 103; Signed 2014; Contract expires in 2023 with option of another year)
Missed the Barcelona humbling and Everton humiliation through suspension and it showed. United’s most consistent performer this season and one of the players Solskjaer can trust.
Verdict: Keep

DIOGO DALOT (Age: 20; Apps: 21; Signed 2018; Contract expires in 2023 with option of another year)
Jose Mourinho suggested the Portugal Under-21 defender will be United’s right back for the next 10 years. It is still very early days. He has been shifted all over the place - out on the wing, midfield, in both full-back positions - and would doubtless benefit from playing in a better, settled defence with a superior midfield ahead of him. There is talent there but his inexperience has shown through when played at full-back and he remains very much a work in progress.
Verdict: Keep

ANTONIO VALENCIA (Age: 33; Apps: 338; Signed 2009; Contract expires this summer)
A loyal and largely dependable servant but he has outstayed his welcome and should have been offloaded last summer. Not played since Jan. 2.

Verdict: Already on his way. Valencia as good as confirmed he will be leaving United this summer in a cryptic Instagram post over the weekend thanking Old Trafford for its support.

MATTEO DARMIAN (Age: 29; Apps: 91; Signed 2015; Contract expires in 2020)
The Italian has made just four league starts all season. Why United did not flog him last summer is hard to understand. Just one example of the deadwood on United’s bloated wage bill bill.
Verdict: Offload this summer for whatever fee the club can get

TIMOTHY FOSU-MENSAH (Age 21; Apps: 21; Signed 2016; Contract expires in 2020 with option of another year)
There are doubts over his attitude and application and he has endured a difficult loan spell in a relegated Fulham side after spending the previous year on loan at Crystal Palace. Currently sidelined, though, after undergoing knee surgery.
Verdict: Wait to see how he recovers from injury and either draft him into the first squad or loan out again. Invoke contract option and sell next summer if the next 12 months do not demonstrate real progress.

Centre halves

VICTOR LINDELOF (Age 24; Apps: 66; Signed: 2017; Contract expires in 2021 with option of another year)
The Swede emerged from a torrid first season to become United’s most dependable centre-half but he needs a pedigree playing partner alongside him.
Verdict: Keep

CHRIS SMALLING (Age: 29; Apps: 321; Signed: 2010; Contract expires in 2022 with option of another year)
The award of a new three-and-a-half-year contract last December was generous in the extreme but he has been one of United’s best performers since returning from injury in February. He is fine as a squad player - the problem is he has been a first choice pick for too long.
Verdict: Keep, and potentially sell next summer

PHIL JONES (Age: 27; Apps: 214; Signed: 2011; Contract expires in 2023 with option of another year)
The award of a new four-and-a-half year contract to the England defender in February is a prime symbol of the warped decision-making at the club. Neither his form nor his chronic injury problems warranted it and it was no surprise to see him forced at half-time against Everton with his latest injury problem.

Verdict: They won’t but they should sell him this summer.

ERIC BAILLY (Age: 25; Apps: 73; Signed: 2016; Contract expires in 2020 with option of additional two years)
Enjoyed an encouraging debut season but the problems have spiralled since then with his temperament, injury record and quality level all called into question. He was abject out of position at right back against Paris St-Germain at the Parc des Princes last month and has not played since but, despite remaining very raw, he is a better option than Jones and Rojo and United cannot afford to offload three centre-halves in one summer. With games, support and the right coaching, he might still be an asset.
Verdict: Keep, for now

MARCOS ROJO (Age: 29; Apps: 112; Signed: 2014; Contract expires in 2021 with option of another year)
He has made just two league starts all season and United cannot get rid of him quickly enough. United took the perverse decision to award the Argentine a new three-year contract 13 months ago, presumably in the misguided belief it would bolster his transfer value, but they struggled to find a buyer last summer. Likely to have to accept a knockdown fee just to get him off the wage bill.

Verdict: Sell, sell, sell

Midfielders

PAUL POGBA (Age: 26; Apps: 138; Signed: 2016; Contract expires in 2021 with option of another year)
The France World Cup winner is a very good player in a very good team and has the attributes to be a world beater on his day but his attitude at United has been called into question and, in a labouring, plodding, woefully inconsistent side, he has looked ordinary far too often. Real Madrid want him but United are adamant he will not be sold this summer. With so many players to shed, selling Pogba this summer looks a step too far.

Verdict: Keep - and then get as much money as possible next summer

NEMANJA MATIC (Age: 30; Apps: 85; Signed 2017; Contract expires in 2020 with option of another year)
The Serb enjoyed a renaissance early on under Solskjaer but he has reverted to the player who looked increasingly immobile and way past his best in Mourinho’s final months in charge. Awful against Everton at the weekend but with Ander Herrera on his way, United are stuck with Matic for the time being.

Verdict:Keep, if only by default with Herrera going

ANDER HERRERA (Age: 29; Apps: 187; Signed: 2014; Contract expires this summer)
The Spain midfielder is well worth keeping as a squad player albeit not on the terms he has been demanding and a parting of ways is now inevitable.

Verdict: Herrera is expected to join Paris St-Germain this summer after refusing to accept United’s contract offer

FRED (Age: 26; Apps: 24; Signed: 2018; Contract expires in 2023 with option of another year)
It has been a debut season to forget and comparisons are already being drawn with Kleberson, another Brazilian who flopped at Old Trafford. Fred deserves more time to make his mark and in a reconfigured midfield next season Solskjaer will hope he improves.
Verdict: Keep. Warrants more time, even if his debut campaign hardly inspires confidence

JUAN MATA (Age: 30; Apps: 216; Signed: 2014; Contract expires this summer)
A lovely man and a lovely player in his pomp at Chelsea but it is time to leave United. Slows down the attack when played out wide and is not incisive or ruthless enough to play in the No. 10 role. United have offered him a one-year extension but Mata wants a longer deal and more money.
Verdict: Let him leave on a free this summer

SCOTT McTOMINAY (Age: 22; Apps: 44; Signed: trainee; Contract expires in 2023 with option of another year)
The Scotland midfielder understands what it means to play for United and has been one of their best performers during this dismal run. Enhanced his reputation against Paris St-Germain and Barcelona in the Champions League.
Verdict: Keep

ANDREAS PEREIRA (Age: 23; Apps: 33; Signed: 2011; Contract expires in 2020)
There have been some bright moments but is he good enough to help take United forward in the longer-term? It will be understandable if United keep him for the final year of his contract given the upheaval in midfield but how much can he reasonably expect to play next season?
Verdict: Sell

Man Utd players ‘lose huge chunk of wages’ after CL failure
Date published: Monday 6th May 2019 7:36

A number of Manchester United’s players will lose 25 per cent of their wages after the club’s failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League, according to reports.

United’s hopes of securing a Champions League place were dashed after Sunday’s 1-1 draw at relegated Huddersfield.

Isaac Mbenza cancelled out Scott McTominay’s first-half opener for United, who twice hit the crossbar through Paul Pogba.

And that defeat is set to hit a number of players in the pocket, according to figures in Football Leaks: The Dirty Business of Football.

Paul Pogba is one player set to suffer from their Premier League placing with his £300,000-a-week contract heavily incentivised.

The France international will reportedly lose out on £1.875million every year that United fail to qualify for the Champions League.

It is understood that Pogba’s commercial rights also go up from £2.87m to £3.125m with Champions League qualification.

Another player that will count the cost of United playing in the Europa League next season is Alexis Sanchez, with the Chilean currently on wages of around £500,000-a-week.

The report adds that United insert clauses into most contracts negotiated at Old Trafford that means players lose 25 per cent of their wages if they miss out on Champions League football.

That would mean if Sanchez – who has been linked with a move away – stays at United then his wages could be cut by £125,000-a-week, meaning his new salary would be £375,000-a-week.

Other top earners including Romelu Lukaku, David de Gea and Fred would also be hit by the reductions, with the reported drop in wages music to the ears of potential suitors.
