Happening now: At SPP rally at Potong Pasir Ave 1

Mountbatten SMC candidate Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss is up next. She says while Potong Pasir SMC might be the smallest electoral division, it is the biggest show of democracy in Singapore.

She highlights how the upgrading plans for eight blocks in Potong Pasir was approved in early August, just before hustings began, and calls on residents to reject this brand of politics.

In a message to the PAP, she says: "Give Potong Pasir the same upgrading as other residents without strings attached. Win hearts by hard work and sincerity, not bricks, mortar, carrot and stick. Win the hearts of Potong Pasir the way Mr Chiam did over the years."

She says the PAP has tried to woo residents with carrots. A supporter, in response, says: "We are not rabbits!"

Happening now: At SDP rally at Woodlands Stadium

Damahuri Abas is speaking for the SDP now. He says that the PAP won 60 per cent of votes at the last election, but has a disproportionate number of seats in Parliament thanks to "unique" electoral system.

He adds that the media is state-controlled, and that the Berita Harian can be mistaken as a PAP paper, which makes him embarrassed as a Malay. ST PHOTO: ZHAKI ABDULLAH

Senior Minister of State for Transport and Finance Josephine Teo, says in Mandarin that her Hokkien is not good but she will try as she wants to communicate to the "grandpas and grandmas" directly.

She says: The election is coming, you may be thinking, your vote should be for PAP or the opposition?

Opposition parties say they want to speak for you, but they have not been here for decades, and yet year after year, the estate has improved.

They have not been speaking up for you, and yet, you have the Pioneer Generation Package.

So who has been speaking up for you all these years? Of course, the PAP MPs. ST PHOTO: GOH YAN HAN

The crowd responds enthusiastically to Mrs Josephine Teo's Hokkien speech.

She turns emotional as she says the Pioneer Generation had a really hard time before Singapore became what it is today.

"We have to make sure we can pass it on to the next generation," she says.

Everything the PAP does, they opposition criticises, she says: "Everything is not so good one."

They sell Singaporeans an easy lie, and glosses over the difficulties and trade-offs they have to make, she says.

"They sell koyok!" The crowd shouts.

Describing Singapore as a well-built house and precious jewel, she asks, who do you want to hand it to?

"The opposition wants to tear your house down. What will they rebuild? A castle in the air." ST VIDEO: GOH YAN HAN
They will turn your house into a house of cards, "weaken its foundation". If the house breaks, they will say "handover issues", "we are learning", Mrs Josephine Teo says, referring to the Workers' Party.

"Let us work together to make this a better house for our future!"

"Majulah PAP! Majulah Singapura!", Mrs Yeo shouts at the end of her speech to cheers.

Josephine Teo now in Bishan-Toa Payoh talking cocks and trying to target old folks!

As usual only tell half story how PAP represent the citizen. She did not say if party whip is out, she be a kitten vote what the party wants, regardless of what citizen says!

Heard many people saying wil not vote her after listening to her in last rally!
