First Photo - Paul Heng and Tan Kim Cheng in the background. TKC still around.
Pastor Goalie - Graham Ng.
Sprinter Prefect who died - Soh Eng Hwa.
A younger sprinter who also died (cancer as well) - Alan Chee Heng Teck.

Paul Heng lives near Chai Chee.
Tan Kim Cheng lives near Ming Teck Park.
Soh Eng Hwa, Head Prefect, is not a sprinter, but a distance runner, and fractured his ankle or leg.

1969 - LKY speaks to cadet ( Low CM?)

national-junior-college-1969.jpg

1969 also saw the establishment of the over-rated NJC. RI lost some good students to this JC, but history has proved that they can only produce one lousy overpaid satrap and his czarina.......

That is a view of Old RI at Bras Basah Road, from the Cenotaph or Centopah, on Beach Road.

The cadet in front of the Guest of honour is Low Chon Mong.

Do you recall that the "leaders" (3 or 4 of them, including one of SG's illustrious Perm Sec) of the Cadet Corps, who may a year or two senior than LCM, were "sacked"?

The school field. May I now pay credit to some of the Rugby players who brought glory to the school in 1969/1972 : Ho Lin Meng, Wong Chai Kee, Tan Geok Ser, Tay Eng Kiat, Lim Kim Nguan, Cheong Wai Hin, and Peter Chan. I sort of remember one giant named Derek (?) and someone called Charlie.....

How about Ko Chee Wah, Charles Lee, Ng Wai Hoong (the lock, or number 8)?

Ko Chee Wah, awarded the Sword of Honour, 4 SMC (he graduated from SU before NS)

Couple Of Points:

1. Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha

2. Locks wear numbers 4 and 5, number 8 is a unique position. All Blacks fans should know this.

Number 1 is a prop, 2 hooker, 3 prop, 4 wing forward, 5 and 6 second row, 7 wing forward, 8 lock, 9 scrum half
10, 11, 12, 13, 14, then 15 fullback

Nope. Number 8 and Lock are different positions.

The lock or second row forwards usually wear jerseys 4 and 5. The flankers or wing forwards usually wear jerseys 6 and 7. Number 8 is a unique position right at the back of the scrum and he obviously wears number 8.

I know of Richard Ee (crew cut),
and I believe Chew Choo Peng (who like Richard Ee, was also a Prefect and NCC Air cadet) also committed suicide.

Aren't they from SAF and committed suicide in the camp?

That is what I heard.
CCP was from "Who Dares, Wins" [ now known as "For Honour and Glory"]

Actually, I know Richard Ee's older brother, who was then a regular LTA, OC of Papa Company at SAFTI.

If I remembered correctly, both from same unit but about 3 or 4 years age different.

Based on my internet search, you are correct.
Although, when I was a schoolboy, I believe that the number 8 (the last man at the back of the scrum) is the lock.
