事发时，一名居民在经过该座组屋，赫然发现身穿黑衣的少妇（31岁）坐在走廊的墙沿，整个人摇摇欲坠，吓得他立刻报警。
据了解，闹跳楼的少妇从中国远嫁来新加坡，就住在该座组屋7楼的一个单位。
事发时，少妇的情绪显得相当不稳定，不时掩面拭泪，一副心事重重的样子。居民说，少妇一度大声喊叫，似乎在倾泻心中的不满。
据知，少妇平时有赌博的嗜好，相信是最近赌球输钱没法偿还赌债，因此才会一时想不开。
