He skipped town on Wednesday, hours before news of his expulsion from the party was made public.
'Shin Leong will not be back in Singapore for a long period, given that he has no job, no business and no MP's seat any more. He is trying to seek a new life elsewhere,' the source said.
It was around then that he terminated the rental of the Kaki Bukit office for his company - EduHearts Consultancy - which he had been leasing from a fellow party member.
One member said that even if he had come and confirmed that the allegations against him were true, there were some in the council who might not have supported the decision to call for a vote on whether to expel Mr Yaw. 'If he had turned up, we could have closed ranks around him, and discussed ways to manage the situation together,' said the member.
'We were all very heavy-hearted,' said one. 'We knew the consequences of sacking him. No one wanted to do such a thing to a party colleague.'

Dude, even if LHL wants to he cannot call for a by election now coz YSL have not been officially kicked out of Parliament
Parliament have sent a letter to Yaw to ask if he wants to appeal the expulsion. Deadline is 28th Feb. U can start screaming after 28th feb

What he has done is downright cowardly - old teochew must have first day cover (and not stamps) on his eyes to have passed the HG baton to such a rat.
Screwing around is morally incorrect, but running away and leaving the teammates to pick up the pieces is nothing short of being a coward.
Why couldn't he admit and resign (there should no argument now that he is indeed guilty), but drag the whole team through the m&d.
I would not even spit in his direction.
