SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said he is "very concerned at the major disruption to train services" on Tuesday evening (Jul 7). A power fault caused a 3.5 hour disruption to train services on SMRT's North-South and East-West Lines.



He added that authorities are still trying to get to the root cause of the problem, adding that staff membersand engineers from the Land Transport Authority and SMRT worked through the night to check trains, tracks and cables.


"Today fortunately trains ran without a glitch, so far. But because we have not identified the root cause of the power trips, we are still very worried that the problem may recur.


"Hope we identify and resolve the faults quickly, to prevent further inconvenience to commuters," he wrote.

In Sinkieland, pappies, especially the Familee members are natural aristocrats, utterly infallible, deserving every penny of their super salaries.

If you want to look for the culprit for the MRT breakdowns, look no further than the population policies during the decade under Lee Hsien Loong. More people means more strain on a MRT system which was originally built for about 3 mil people... what a surprise!

But will anyone point out the elephant in the room?

SMRT CEO should have been fired last year for non-performance, instead he got his compensation doubled. The CEO of larger competitor gets the same amount and delivers. So, PM Lee believes in cronynism, otherwise, why didn't he intervene?
