“Participants are afraid that foreigners may take away jobs amidst the economic downturn.”

- Channel News Asia

“If we just send away the foreign workers now, it will do us harm, because the company already in difficulty and they hire half foreign workers, half Singaporeans and you tell them foreign workers must go out, you take Singaporeans, its cost may go up and the company may close. And if the company closes, even the half who now have jobs may lose their jobs.”

- Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong

With inflation running at all time high coupled the absence of a minimal wage and social safety net to protect retrenched workers, unskilled, blue-collared workers will be the hardest hit.

In a completely free job market, locals which cost more due to CPF contributions from the employers will invariably lose out to low-cost foreign labor for companies struggling to keep their overheads low during difficult times like this.

In the begining it was said that high salary for ministers helps to keep Leeapore in good shape, now the PM [ProxyMinister] is saying that foreigners are the ones thats doing the good work. and Leeaporeans should be thanking them.

[1] Is it true that we have been unknowingly living on charity?
[2] What else will Leeapore leaders say to us suckers,? i wonder.

No matter what they say, 66.6% of sinkies will swallow it down unquestioningly as if it's the gospel truth.

I believe this number is much smaller these days. Why ?

Some were displaced from their jobs by FT,
Some feel the pinch of having to pay MORE ERP
Some are feeling the pain now having to pay put a large fraction of their income on with PUB bill
Some are pissed off having to squeeze and fight for place on the MRT
Some are seeing red these days, the large loss sustained by Temasek
Some are now too convinced that PM Le eis doing a good job
Some are now aware of the high pay of PAP ministers and are jeaous
Some have grown up and are more matured........

The pap ministers including LKY have over the years said that foreign workers provide a buffer to protect Singaporeans in a recession. That is in a recession, the foreign workers will take the hit first before the
Singaporeans.

Now LHL is telling us that to force companies to give preference to Singaporeans will lead to higher cost for the company and thus make it more difficult for them to operate. So he is implying that Singaporeans
should go first as they are paid higher than foreign workers.

Wow, this is very revealing. Now the secrets are out.

Foreign workers are imported into Singapore in huge numbers to depress the wages in favour of the company. This policy has led to companies in Singapore developing a dependency for foreign workers to the detriment of Singaporeans.

So Mr Lee Hsien Loong, have u even consider the plight of Singaporeans living in high cost Singapore ? Or are u only interested in ensuring that the companies, many of which are owned by the pap government continue to make huge profit at the expense of average Singaporeans ?

By endorsing this so-called 66.6% mandate, repeatedly claimed by the fascist dictatorial PAP, are you not giving credence to the skewed electoral process that is clearly managed and executed by the PAP itself?
