Petition delivered to Istana

This is so stupid. Asking for leniency for a drug trafficker? I think Malaysia drugs law is stricter than Singapore and they have the decency to ask for leniency?

I wish that all the 110,000 who signed the letter would one day feel the agony of seeing their loved ones crumble due to drugs addiction. By then, tell me if drug traffickers should be given leniency.:oIo:

A PETITION with close to 110,000 signatures was delivered to the Istana on Tuesday morning, calling on President S R Nathan to spare the life of convicted Malaysian drug trafficker Yong Vui Kong.

It was presented by a group of 12 of Yong's family members and supporters. Police officers from the Istana Security Unit received the petition outside the Istana's Cavenagh Road entrance.

The group, which included the Member of Parliament for Yong's constituency in Sabah, met at Plaza Singapura at 9am.

Most wore T-shirts with the words Give Life a Second Chance, the slogan for the Save Vui Kong Campaign.

At 10am, they walked to the Istana's Cavenagh Road entrance, carrying a box, files and bundles of paper bearing the 109,346 signatures.

These had been gathered over the past two months on the streets of Yong's home state of Sabah, as well as in Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and online.

I think the Malaysian Police keeps more drugs than all the drug smugglers combined .

In case for special ops for the Elite Police .

This is not surprising because who in the right mind would sign a petition knowing that this foreigner's drugs may end up being used by one of their family members?

Maybe Sinkie would be more than happy to sign if it is one of their own facing the death penalty in another country..

Look even Istana didn't have the compassion to give a damn and
sent a waxed duck to the gate to receive the notes !

-A representative from Tong Aik who will archive the notes together with other stuff to burn .

Honestly, even if it was my son who is caught on drugs, I wouldn't wish death on drug smugglers.

What stricter drug laws are there in Malaysia? In Singapore, it is death. Don't tell me in Malaysia, they do crucifixion?

Well apparently we have 312 pple with loose screws in their heads. I'm assuming everyone present at the Istana had also signed that article.

Key woord here is 'IF'. WHEN drugs really happen to destroy one's immediate family member, I am sure the feelings will be opposite. You may want to personally pull the trigger even.

You are absolutely right. Besides jobs and leniency for crimes committed, do they need blood?

Dear All,

Greed is the motivator here. Now that he was caught, he is appealing for the humanity of the people. I ask, where was his humanity when he was dealing his poison to all and sundry?

So please!!! I say you deal you DIE!!!

Cheers,

MM

This case is unique because the traficker is only 18.5 years old at the time. He is really still a kid then :(

At 18.5 years of age, could he have impregnated a girl ? If he was capable at that age, he was not a kid at that point of time. You know why porn movies are called adult movies ?

Here's a thought. When you're 18 in Singapore, you're not thought to be responsible enough to cast a vote or run for office.

But responsible enough to fire live rounds from a rifle and throw a live grenade.
