The fact of the matter is that Lee Kuan Yew is actually a socialist and very nearly a communist albeit it a corrupted one. The PAP that he sets up is modeled on the communist party. They call themselves comrades, their leader is a secretary general, they have a central committee, they have cadre membership, they hold party congresses, etc. All these terms are associated with communist parties around the world. You have to remember he attended Cambridge at the time when communist thoughts and sympathy were rampant on campus. In fact, the KGB recruited the famous Cambridge spy ring from the same campus, several years before.

I mentioned in another thread, that what the HDB has done when they "sell" you flat, is that they have given you a 99 year rental agreement with them as the landlord and you as the tenant. Legally speaking, they cannot evict you from the premises because you have a right to be there for 99 years. Tenants from Bedok South should have consulted their contract closely and see if they have any recourse. In the past, the HDB has offered many "incentives" to move the people out. But if you you do not want to move, what is the legal position?
