TWO simple steps to follow to provide a good movie review for all to share...

1.Don't just throw lists up. That doesn't help much. Pick a few favorites, or perhaps something that's not well known, and try not to pick the same ones constantly. If twenty people have already mentioned "money not enough 2", it's probably going to be seen as a good recommendation.

2. Try to provide some background on it. Is it fantasy, sci-fi, or modern? Is it a drama, comedy, or romance? What is the basic premise? If foreign, is it available in dubbed, subtitled, both, or neither? Is there a particular name behind it, such as a gifted director? You don't have to answer all of these questions, and a complete critique isn't necessary, but a little background information is helpful.

cheers:smile:
Go and get the VCS or DVD of this movie called "The Sting'.
Oscar award winner in the 70s (or 60s) starring the late great Paul Newman and Robert Redford. Superb acting and a watertight storyline which moves at a great pace and has a nice surprise ending.
Great movie.

Here is a old show I personally like..

Identity (2003)
Genre: Horror, Suspend and Mystery

yes interesting show but a bit confused at the end becos was he fantasizing everything or was the part where he was been incarcerated the reality?

But interesting show with a twist at the end is Righteous Kill starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. Think yet to be shown in our cinemas...

Interesting thread, for movie buffs:biggrin:

Anybody liked American Graffiti?

Nostalgic but unsentimental, American Graffiti is a seminal coming-of-age film that speaks to anyone who has ever been a teenager. George Lucas's second feature film, an elegy for childhood freedom, it captured yearning conflict without exploiting it and refused to exchange its tough-love treatment of its subjects for a more breezy, simplistic rendering. The film was a surprise success (much like Lucas' next film, Star Wars) that set the tone for subsequent youth-oriented movies. It also sparked a craze for nostalgia films set in the pre-Vietnam era, an interesting detail given that, while certainly nostalgic, American Graffiti avoided the sort of sappy, one-dimensional pitfalls encountered by its numerous imitators. A classic by any standards, its message remains unforced and universal, making the film identifiable with but not defined by one particular era.

The film stars Richard Dreyfuss, Ron Howard, Paul Le Mat, Charles Martin Smith, Candy Clark, Mackenzie Phillips, Cindy Williams and Wolfman Jack and featuring Harrison Ford. Set in 1962 Modesto, California, American Graffiti tells of the exploits and adventures of a group of teenagers during a night of cruising around town and listening to pirate radio personality Wolfman Jack.

The film was initially funded by United Artists, but after creative differences arose with the studio, Lucas decided to work with Universal Pictures instead. The editing of American Graffiti was strenuous: the first cut was roughly 210 minutes long, and the final cut was released at 112 minutes. To this day the location of the other 100 minutes of footage remains unknown. The film received positive reviews and was a unanimous box office success (recouping 92 times its budget with its North American financial take). The film was nominated for five different categories at the 46th Academy Awards, and in 1995, American Graffiti was deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the United States Library of Congress, and was added to the National Film Registry for preservation.

Classic.. mafioso:p

The Godfather is a 1972 crime drama film based on the 1969 novel of the same name by Mario Puzo and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, with a screenplay by Puzo, Coppola, and an uncredited Robert Towne. It stars Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall and Diane Keaton, and features Richard S. Castellano, Abe Vigoda and Sterling Hayden. The story spans ten years from 1945 to 1955 and chronicles the Italian-American Corleone crime family.

The Godfather received Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay, and has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. In addition, it is ranked as the second greatest film in American cinematic history, behind Citizen Kane on the AFI's 100 Years... 100 Movies (10th Anniversary Edition) list by the American Film Institute

Two sequels followed The Godfather: The Godfather Part II in 1974, and The Godfather Part III in 1990.

Fahrenheit 9/11........Michael Moore portrays George Bush as an arsehole
and the worst president in the history of the USA.

George Bush family's dealings with Osama Bin Laden's family & Dick Chenny's
Halliburton Company being the main general contractor in Iraq are also revealed.

Am negotiating with Michael Moore to make a documentary of old fart the dictator
of S'pore for the last 50 years who is a much worse arsehole than G Bush.

For you, this... or no???:p

Jesus Christ Superstar is a 1973, Oscar-nominated film adaptation of the rock opera of the same name, based on the last weeks of the life of Jesus. The film was directed by Norman Jewison. Ted Neeley and Carl Anderson were nominated for two 1974 Golden Globe Award for their portrayals of Jesus and Judas, respectively.

Though it attracted negative criticism from some religious groups, the film was generally well received.

Platoon (1986) Directed by Oliver Stone starring Tom Berenger, Willem Defoe, Charlie Sheen.

Chris Taylor (Charlie Sheen) is a young, naive American who gives up college and volunteers for combat in Vietnam. Upon arrival, he quickly discovers that his presence is quite nonessential, and is considered insignificant to the other soldiers, as he has not fought for as long as the rest of them and felt the effects of combat. Chris has two commanding officers, the ill-tempered and indestructible Staff Sergeant Robert Barnes (Tom Berenger) and the more pleasant and cooperative Sergeant Elias Grodin (Willem Dafoe). A line is drawn between the two officers and a number of men in the platoon when an illegal killing occurs during a village raid. As the war continues, Chris himself draws towards psychological meltdown. And as he struggles for survival, he soon realizes he is fighting two battles, the conflict with the enemy and the conflict between the men within his platoon. Written by Jeremy Thomson
