They last, the don't corrode away, the survive very high temperature, they don't get destroyed easily even in hottest furnace, they melt and solidify nicely as gold still, they survive the strongest alkaline and acid without corrosion. That is why gold is used as gold.:smile:

try this, see your gold will survive a not. 50 percent vol/vol 37.7% HCl with 50 percent vol/vol 100% HNO3
