So, only coasters, freighters, and maybe passenger ships. So, there are only a few areas they can dock. They are not going to be able to bring their tanks, there is no way to load them on these types of ships, and the same probably for their artillery. So, these attackers are going in with personal and section weapons, and no transports. So, they commandeer buses, and lorries and drive to their objectives? Of course, by now, armed men running around the streets hijacking vehicles will be reported to the police, and we can be sure MINDEF would have been alerted too. Gun battles would already be started at the cruise ship terminal between the security there and the attackers. I can see them securing key installations like the broadcast stations, Parliament, etc. They can even hold those buildings with their forces, but than, all the police and the standing army would be activated. Than what? 10,000 attackers, even 20,000 is not enough to conquer and hold the island. What would be the point of sending 10,000 attackers to paralyze the govt.? They can easily do it through other non military means. If they stop all trade with singapore, close the border to singapore, etc. it will have a paralyzing effect on us too. These 10,000 attackers will be sacrificed eventually, they are not going to hold out forever. Even without reservists, the standing SAF force and SPF can take care of it. Especially once we roll out the armour and artillery. Even if we did not have the Leos, and Bionix and only had the 80's era M113 and AMX-13 and KP tanks, the attackers will still be overwhelmed. They have to keep landing ship after cargo ship of men to even have a chance to hold the land. You can be sure during the fighting, nationalities from many countries will be killed and wounded. You think their govt. going to stand by and do nothing to Indonesia? If the objective is to paralyze Singapore, there are other ways to do it. What you say does not make military sense.
