If you’re in the food and beverages business, receiving a Michelin star is what many restaurant owners and chefs desire. Having said that, achieving a 5-star status is no easy feat. We often hear fancy restaurants earning such status but a famous figure believes that one fast food restaurant should earn Michelin recognition.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has been on holiday in Japan with his wife Priscilla Chan and one of their stops to visit was apparently a McDonald’s outlet. While it was not specified which outlet it was, the tech icon expressed that it deserves a Michelin star.

Earlier this week, Mark posted several photos on Facebook of his visit to a McD outlet in Japan together with his wife. As seen in the photos above, the couple ordered 3 burgers (1 Teriyaki burger, 1 Fillet-o-fish burger and 1 Egg Double Beef burger), fries, Chicken McNuggets, Hitokuchi Churros, coleslaw and a couple of drinks.

The entrepreneur captioned the post with, “Japanese McDonald’s: 10/10. Give these guys a Michelin star.” From this, it’s evident that the American celeb really enjoyed his meal there. Although the post was just the public figure wanting to share his honest opinion on the food, netizens, on the other hand, were divided in the comments.

Some agreed with Mark’s statement about the food quality in Japan and even praised him for eating a simple fast food meal despite being a billionaire. Others condemned him for endorsing McDonald’s because of the ongoing boycott with many saying “Free Palestine” in the comments section.

Mark Zuckerberg did not respond to any of the comments, positive or negative but one thing is for sure: this was definitely not the first time the CEO has shown love for the famous fast-food chain. Last year, he shared on Threads what he usually orders – 20 nuggets, a quarter pounder, large fries, Oreo McFlurry, apple pie, and a cheeseburger.

From this, we can conclude that his Michelin Star statement was a little biased. What do you think? Should Michelin consider awarding fast-food restaurants with a star in the future?
