When start to hire, they say hire cleaners and why only 10,000 jobs?

When start to retrenchment, they will say 'there you see'.

This is not inferior complexity but pent up frustrations where these people just hope to see Singapore will fail at every single issue to justify what they say is correct.

Then they come tell you, 'there you see'

If you tell these people to see a psychologist, they tell you they are not mad. But the problem is they are not mad, just mentally unstable that's all. :p

No job is below any person. I guess more challenges to moniker makapaaa's job and personal wealth is needed from hungry foreign talent for an improvement in attitude. Our forefathers who became millionaires started from jobs deemed untouchable by moniker makapaaa.

It's not whether the job is above or below a person. Only Papaya running dogs would see it as such. Road sweepers are paid enough for a family to survive on in the developed countries. Even free-wheeling HK has min. wage requirements and decent social welfare and that comes with no GST and other devious taxation to boot. But in a cuntry that is run by the BEST PAID govt in the world, the citizens cannot afford to retire and yet are "expired" by 35 and to be replaced by FTrash to becum cleaners and jagas with 0 as the theoretical min. wage. Only running dogs can be proud of such achievements. Hope that their ancestors of such worthless creatures can still RIP.

It is not a fair world. If you think it looks more equitable elsewhere, that is because the unknowing taxpayers for usually extravagant lifestyles are your children and their children. No one is condemned to any life. Some monikers seem to think any and every job is an entitlement. There was no entitlement to jobs during the Great Depression. Having a job is better than none. This country cannot move forward without someone doing the basic services. If global market and domestic market conditions allow for global sourcing, that is good. If not, it will have to be domestic. However, many Singaporeans have developed an attitude that they are above some jobs and there are untouchable individuals in society, reflecting the room for more social and intellectual progress. These untouchable jobs and people are not limited to cleaners, unfortunately.

U're right. This world is not fair. But it could be a fairer place to live in. Democracies all around the world have shown it. If the people are willing to stand up against the dictatorships, they would have gotten a better deal and more hardworking govt - and at a lower cost eventually. The tale of two cities in the ongoing Minibomb saga has demonstrated this amply. The unfortunate truth is Singapore cannot support as many white collar jobs as Singapore would like. The 9-11 and SARs crisis has shown how vulnerable Singapore remains in a globalized economy. It would be nice to have a case whereby Singaporeans can migrate to high paying and more prestigious positions, while other basic but essential services are outsourced to other non-nationals. This is already being done and there are many other countries that do this. But ideal matching is not easy to achieve, even if there are the best of intentions. There is , however, a price to pay for the competitiveness of Singapore which may lead to fewer white collar jobs in the mid or long term. This is something no one likes hearing. For Singaporeans who think that they are worth more, they have ask themselves if they are willing to go abroad to find that better job. There may be even more racial and nationalistic prejudices as well. This crisis is beginning to show a less pleasant sight in the world. Immigration in the USA and UK, and probably in Australia and New Zealand are getting much tighter.

Cut the smoke screen. The simple fact is that in Peesai, the govt is the BEST PAID in the world, yet it cannot deliver and is actively selling out the interests of the people to FTrash while enriching itself through leegalized corruption. This is nothing but the worst possible combination of sins. In democratic countries, it would have been overthrown many times over. The Familee is lucky that they've been given half a century to force Sporns into submission through a combination of 154th brainwashing - in which case, the likes of clintonxxx, cassyyy, divzzz and myozzz are unfortunate victims, and hooligan-like threats.

It's just an excuse to say that you believe that Singapore has to deny social mobility and overall progression because of a certain few. As a result, the society you deem acceptable is reflective of the society back in the Imperial China times, when a privileged few were allowed to have high paying jobs, and access to more mobility, and even important jobs in the central Imperial government; While the commoners had to be contented with jobs like running eateries, being lowly paid servants, and yes, even latrine cleaners, an even worse, looked-down-upon job centuries ago than now.
