No need to over-analyse the remaining fixtures.
Any schoolkid looking at the remaining matches will tell you
Sir Alex's team got a much easier run in now,
City have got Arsenal away, Chelsea at home.
Record-breaking title 20th will resting in the Theatre of Dreams by the end of April
after the game against Man Shitty on April 28th.
The momentum from the victory yesterday should carry over,
provided Sir Alex keep everyone fit and firing till the end of April.

You certainly know when to appear.

IMHO the under performers for Man Utd thus far are the following:

1. The twins-One cannot defend and the other is out injured for the best part of the season and when he plays, he's either caught out of position or fails to mark his opponent. His mistake against Athletico led to the third goal.
2. Smalling-For some inexplicable reason, his promising start at the beginning of the season has somewhat deserted him.:*:His best position should be central defence. Too bad Vidic is not there to guide him.
3. Phil Jones-He is another enigma. Sometimes I get the impression that young players like Jones ,Smalling and Cleverley have legs made of tofu. Jones is not cut out for central defence. His positioning is poor. I wouldn't be surprise if he scores another own goal again if he's assigned that position. Right back is better.
4.Evra and Evans-Enough said.
5.Nani-Inconsistent. It was the same period last season that saw his form slide downhill. Deja vu.
6. Anderson- Good for 5 games this season.
7. Young-Blowing hot and cold. When he's good, he's really exciting to watch, but......
8. Welbeck-Good at holding play but poor finisher.
9. Hernandez- Needs a large dose of confidence in front of goal but he never stops running into open spaces.

United need 4 or 5 of them to raise their game if they are to win anything this season. Valencia gets my vote for top dog so far. It would be nice if Vidic returns as the back 4 looks vulnerable and could just collapse against stiffer opposition.

Read somewhere that Schmeichel was seeking to join the coaching staff. What happen? I thought he was offered that role before he left Utd. It would be nice if Schmeicel and Keane could play some part in the club. I know what Keane will do.:biggrin:

Pogba agrees new deal at Manchester United - report

The French midfielder looks set to sign a new contract to stay with the Red Devils after speculation had linked him with a move to Italian side Juventus from Old Trafford

Paul Pogba has agreed to sign a new contact to remain at Manchester United following his appearance against West Brom in the Premier League, according to Sky Sports.

The 18-year-old’s future at the Red Devils has been in doubt, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season, and he was linked with a potential move to Italian giants Juventus.

Pogba’s agent previously described his position at Old Trafford as "precarious", which fuelled speculation that he was set for a move away from the club.

The Frenchman was also left out of the United squad in their recent Europa League clashes against Ajax and Athletic Bilbao.

Manchester United have been installed as 4/7 favourites with Sportingbet to win the Premier League title this season.

However, the youngster returned to the Red Devils side that beat West Brom on Sunday, appearing as a second-half substitute to replace Paul Scholes.

And, speaking after the game, Ferguson confirmed that Pogba was in his plans and reiterated his belief that the midfielder has a bright future.

The Scot told MUTV: “The boy is still trying to make his mind up but he knows where he should be and he has shown today the potential he has got. He is a first team player, there is no question about that.”

The former Le Havre player has made just five appearances this season after making his debut against Leeds earlier in the campaign.

Pogba must have thought about Thierry Henry's ordeal at Turin which probably prompted him to change his mind. He should concentrate on doing well and let the remuneration bit sort itself out. If he's good, money will come.

Eden Hazard is good, but do we need another attacking midfielder? Young, Nani, Park, Valencia....

Can sell Nani, he is crap, LOL

Hazard has nifty footwork but I am not sure if he'll succeed in EPL. If the boss himself has gone down personally to watch him, it says alot about his prospect of playing for United but then again it's always a two way thing. Utd will either make a bid for him in the coming months or drop the idea altogether. YES, we do need a creative midfielder and that is one area that's been screaming for help in the last two seasons-just ask JW5 or red amoeba. The other area that is also in dire need of rejuvenation is the defensive midfield area as it will be foolish to rely on Carrick and Scholes, one an ageing warrior and the other simply unpredictable. We can write off Anderson for good as he looks a long term liability.

If United intends to match the Barcas and the REALs in this world, they will have to do alot more in terms of personnel changes within their ranks. No, it will not crowd out the young talent that is coming through the youth academy but it will certainly raise the bar. When you have Scholes and Giggs still playing well beyond their 30s, it can only mean that we're sitting on a ticking time bomb.

Athletic Bilbao - Manchester United Preview: Hosts looking to secure first European quarter-final in 35 years

The Basque side will welcome back all of their main stars as they look to build on a sensational victory in Manchester to progress to the next stage of the Europa League

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling may miss the second-leg after having to withdraw from the first game with a head injury that he had received during international duty with England.

Sir Alex Ferguson will be able to call upon the services of midfielders Tom Cleverley and Antonio Valencia who have both returned from injury. Nani and Phil Jones have however not travelled to Spain.

Man United should have won by 10-0
against Wolves, one of the worst teams this season
who had 10 men for 2/3 of the match.
Goal difference could play a vital part in the run-in.
My prediction is on track,
that Sir Alex will have the title sewn up
by the end of April, after the 30 April game agst Man Shitty.
Now where is the dipstick in this forum
who says Sir Alex will muck it all up?

Kelong king Juventus would not have won 0-5 if not for 10 man Fiorentina.

Ferguson dismisses Vieira's claims that Manchester United get preferential treatment from referees

The Red Devils manager insisted that decisions even themselves out over the course of a season and sympathises with Michael Oliver over controversial Danny Murphy claim

Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed suggestions made by Patrick Vieira that big clubs such asManchester United get preferential treatment from referees at home.

Vieira later claimed his views had been misrepresented and taken out of context but Ferguson insisted regardless that refereeing decisions even themselves out over the course of a season.

The United manager also pointed out that Manchester City themselves had benefited from questionable refereeing on occasion this season.

"Every club gets breaks here and there - you get good ones and bad ones," he told reporters. "It evens itself out over the season, that will never change.

"We had a terrible decision earlier this season when Newcastle got a penalty and Tottenham could claim the same when Mario Balotelli wasn't sent off and ended up scoring the winning goal.

"You could go through millions of things like that.

"Maybe smaller clubs feel that [decisions go against them when they play against big clubs] but someone said some years ago that we get lots of penalties. It is only averaging out at three a year.

"You can't say that is a lot when you are attacking teams all the time. Most managers believe the breaks even themselves out."

Sir Alex also expressed sympathy for referee Michael Oliver, who turned down a strong late appeal for a Fulham penalty when Danny Murphy appeared to be tripped by Michael Carrick in the United box.

"From the referee's position, I can see why he didn't give a penalty when Danny Murphy was brought down," he added.

"The ball moved to the angle as Michael Carrick challenged him. From that position, it wasn't clear.

"It was a good claim but City could have had a penalty against them at Stoke [on Saturday] for a foul by Gareth Barry."
