A PRIME mover driver who beat the red light and fatally wounded a woman pedestrian at a signalised cross junction was jailed for six months on Monday.
Tan Chin Tiong, 49, was also banned from driving all vehicles for seven years for causing the death of Madam Lim Choy Leng, 64, through dangerous driving.
The accident happened when he was making a left turn from Jurong West Street 65 into Jurong West Street 62 without stopping at the signalised crossing on Nov 25, 2009.
The court heard that Madam Lim was crossing the road with the green man showing she was struck by Tan's heavy vehicle. She died on the spot.
