Goh Ken-Yi is the Head of Commercial Real Estate, Singapore, Standard Chartered Bank. Also the doted grandson of the recently deceased Dr Goh Keng Swee, former PM and true founding father of Singapore. His mother is the legendary Ms Jennie Chua, the hotelier who also heads many private and government-linked organisations.
Jennie Chua Kheng Yeng serves as the Chief Corporate Officer of Capitaland Ltd. Ms. Chua has been the Chief Strategic Relations Officer of Capitaland Ltd. since February 1, 2007. She serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of The Ascott Group. Ms. Chua serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Raffles Hotels & Resorts. Ms. Chua has been President and Chief Operating Officer of Raffles International Limited, the hotel management arm of Raffles Holdings, since 1999 and serves as its Chairman. she served as President of Raffles Hotels & Resorts until August 2009. Ms. Chua oversees the performance of the Group's 36 hotels, located in 32 destinations in Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America and South America, in particular in the areas of Marketing, Human Resource and strategic direction of the Group's operations. She served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Raffles Holdings Limited at Capitaland Ltd since March 8, 2003. She served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Marketing & Operations of Raffles Holdings Limited. Ms. Chua worked in hotels in the region in various middle and senior management positions, ranging from Sales, Public Relations, Housekeeping and Food & Beverage. In 1978, Ms. Chua joined Singapore Tourism Board (formerly known as Singapore Tourist Promotion Board) and remained there for 11 years as the Director of Singapore Convention Bureau. Since 1998, she served as Executive Vice President of Raffles International Limited ("RIL") and also served as its President and Chief Operating Officer since 1999. In 1988, Ms. Chua returned to the hotel industry, joining the then Westin Stamford & Westin Plaza in 1988 as Director of Sales & Marketing and subsequently in 1990 the Raffles Hotel as General Manager for 10 years.
Ms. Chua continues her ties with Raffles Hotel as Executive Director. She serves as Chairman of Société Montreux-Palace S.A. She serves as Director of Raffles Hospital Pte Ltd., a subsidiary of Raffles Medical Group Ltd. She also serves as Director of Sentosa Leisure Group. She serves as Non Executive Director of ES Cell International Pte Ltd. She has been Executive Director of Raffles Holdings Ltd. since May 26, 2003. She serves as Director of Spring Singapore. She was also a lecturer at the University of Philippines, at the Asian Institute of Tourism. Ms. Chua chairs the Community Chest of Singapore, Singapore Film Commission, Skills Development Fund (SDF) Advisory Committee and International Hotel Management School Pte Ltd. She serves as a Director on several companies and Boards and also serves on Government and Community Service Boards and Committees, both local and internationally. She is on the Board/Council of Singapore Tourism Board, Media Development Authority, Hotel Service Transformation Advisory Panel & Taskforce, People Developer Council, Automobile Association of Singapore as well as on Board of Advisors of Singapore Repertory Theatre and Ren Ci Hospital &Medicare Centre. Ms. Chua was recognized for her contribution to the industry through the National Day Award 1984 when she received the Public Administration Medal (PPA) Silver. She served as the Deputy Chairman of the Domestic Enterprises of the Economic Review which completed its report in 2002. At the regional and international arena, she is the President of Philippine Bayanihan Society Singapore, Member of the International Advisory Panel of the E-Village, Malaysia and Member of the World Travel & Tourism Council. She is Chairman of Community Chest, Singapore Film Commission, Tourism and Hotel Accommodation Services Industry Skills Training Council, Sentosa Cove Pte Ltd., Raffles Hotel (1886) Ltd., Societe Montreux-Palace S.A. and Le Basel Plaza AG. Ms. Chua continues her affiliation with Cornell and serves on the University’s Board of Trustees and on the President’s Council of Cornell Women. Ms. Chua has been honoured with several awards, including Independent Hotelier of the World 1997, Hotelier of the Year 1999, Champion of the Arts 1999, Woman of the Year 1999, Pacific Area Travel Writers Association Hall of Fame 2000. She was the first Singapore woman to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University, New York in 1971.
