Tell me, how is it that there are quite a few accounts of doctors declaring a patient as brain dead and yet they manage to return to life? We are talking about well trained specialist doctors from developed countries making these wrong judgment calls.
So how many sinkies were wrongly declared brained dead and their organs harvested within 24 hours? Did Singapore hospitals use all techniques available to determine whether the brain is truly dead before they kill the body?
Also why the hurry to harvest within 24 hours?

Don't tell me no one in MOH is aware of the numerous case of bereaved families who fought with hospital administrators enforcing the HOTA rule of slaughtering sinkies within 24 hours with a simple and unreliable brain dead test.
1.Some MOH administrators are doctors too. Some are also specialists in their own fields.

Show all your medical facts then. We are eagerly waiting for solid and unequivocal proof on how human organs will irreversibly and critically damaged if a person is brain dead for more than 24 hours. We are also waiting for solid proof that the local doctors method of determining brain dead is foolproof and of the best standard in the developed world.
I have seen how specialists determine if a person is brain dead, and there is much room for improvement. Do the doctors use more sensitive and expensive techniques to ascertain brain dead? Answer is no.

If you are very afraid of being " slaughtered" and your organs being "harvested prematurely", please go and sign the HOTA form and also sign the AMD if you wish. Why are you so worked up ? You sound like a PAP IB agent. Why are you even defending a flawed policy like the HOTA? Does MOH distribute the form to opt out of HOTA to every Singaporean who turns 21 years of age? MOH has the moral obligation to do so because this is an important policy that affects a person's life and death.

If HOTA is so foolproof and thoroughly debated, then why not extend it to all PRs, S-pass and foreign dependents living here? Make it a requirement for foreigners to live and work in Singapore. Anyone who steps onto sinkieland, including tourists will be covered under HOTA. If they don't agree, then don't come here.
The fact that pap dare not extend HOTA to these foreigners speaks volume. It merely means that pap know that HOTA is not up to scratch under international spotlight.
You have no more tricks because HOTA must be revised and local method of brain dead determination must be thoroughly reworked.
